Not really gutted, other things concern me - My thoughts on the game.

  1. Well, I'm disappointed, but not gutted to be honest. Almost every team in the league will be on the end of a similar result at least once this season.

I know Luiz should have been sent off and we were unlucky not to score ect, but at the end of the day, we got totally battered off Chelsea when they attacked us.

Lover and Raylor are pants together defensively. We got annihilated on that side for most of the game. We definitely missed Jonas and also Coloccini.

We need Tiote back. I know Guthrie and Cabaye are both class, and Guthrie is on good form, but we really lack that presence in the center of midfield like Tiotes. Neither Guthrie or Cabaye can break up enemy advances like Tiote. We need someone that can bully center mids, because opposition teams are being allowed too much time on the ball.

I'm going to be ****ting myself for the next couple of days, because we desperately don't need Colo or Saylor to be injured.

No doubt everyone else will be saying Newcastle are on the decline now, after a 3-0 defeat. We should ignore them, and carry on.

    Ratings -

Krul - 9.5 - Excellent performance, stopped us from being truly humiliated, and kept the score line reasonably respectable.

Simpson - 5.5 - Not bad, but not much better than that.

    Saylor - 8 - Solid.

Perch - 6 - Can't knock the lads effort, but he's definitely not good enough. I didn't think he was awful but he just doesn't live up to who he replaces.

Raylor - 5.5 - Absolutely annihilated on that side, him and Lover were raped and Cabaye needed to bring down Sturridge for the pen. As much as I love him, it's time for a change. He wasn't ****e, just totally pwned.

Lover - 6 - Some really good runs, good passing at times, decent performance, but offers **** all in defense. Raylor was crushed by himself.

Cabaye - 7.5 - Some great passing. Good performance.

    Guthrie - 7.5 - Good performance.

Ober - 6 - Not bad, not great either. Skinned by Cole really.

Ba - 7 - Unlucky not to score a couple of times, good first half, quiet second half.

HBA - 6.5 - Some good runs but no final product today.

    Shola - 6 - Pretty good.

Sammy - 6 - Chelsea defense a little bit too much for him, but he worked hard, made some good runs and won us some corners.

Overall - I'm happy that the fans still sung after conceding 3 late goals and got behind the team. I'll be ****ting myself a bit for the injury report. God help us if Colo is injured. Hopefully this result wont demoralize the troops

It's still a fantastic start, and it's only one result.

I could easily forget all about this as long as there's no major injuries. It's just too good of a season to get too upset after one bad result, but injuries could kill us.

    Lets stay strong!!!

    HTL!!

5.5 is generous for ryan taylor imo. I would give him a 3 at most.

Not sure how Simpson can receive the same rating as Raylor? Going forward Simpson threw in some pretty awful crosses, but defensively I thought he was strong and none of Chelsea's successful attacks came down his right side.

Raylor and Obertan both get a four from me.

Raylor is not a LB and I'm peed off that he has to take every free kick.

Obertan has no end product and need's to man up.

I say knock Shola and Lovenkrands up to a 7 and I agree with you. They both surprised me today and played pretty well.

Shola did far more in the second half than Ben Arfa did in the first.

Krul: 9 - very busy and some great saves. And he got his first penalty save....
Simpson: 6.5 - much less to do than Raylor as they focused attacks down the left. Some attacking outlet.
Perch: 6.5 - did alright when he came on, should have been tighter on Drogba but Cabaye let Mata run so not just down to him
Saylor: 8 - some great blocks and headers as ever
Raylor: 5 - couldn't cope with Sturridge and wouldn't stay back in the first half when instructed. No protection tho from Lover
Obertan: 5 - Very poor movement around him meant he often didn't have a pass. Poor crossing when he did get the chance
Cabaye: 6.5 - Covered in other threads. Had to sacrifice his own game for the team. At fault for 1st goal
Guthrie: 7.5 - Some excellent passing and a composed display
Lovenkrands: 6 - Some good attacking runs and a decent cross in first half, but can't mark higher due to appalling defensive support
Ben Arfa: 6 - Not much attacking threat other than once or twice, found it difficult to get onto the ball and make space
Ba: 7 - Almost scored a couple in the first half with great improvisation

Sammy: 6.5 - couple of decent runs and almost scored
Shola: 7 - cracking shot at 1-0, looked strong and threatening

Shola should get an 8 IMO. He was our main attacking threat all the way through the second half and was extremely unlucky not to score.

Krul - 8 - Showed his class once again.

Simpson - 5 - Back to his normal poor standards after his brilliant performance at Man Utd.

Saylor - 7 - The next 4 months will be tough without him and thats probably the understatement of the year.

    Coloccini - 6 - I hope his injury isn't too bad.

Perch - 5 - He does try hard but sadly he isn't prem quality.

    Raylor - 3 - Shocking.

Lover - 7 - He impressed, some good play.

Cabaye - 6 - Stupidly gave away the pen, made some decent passes.

Guthrie - 5 - Sloppy game. Maybe it was an off day because he's been decent recently.

Obertan - 6 - The odd decent moment.

Ba - 6 - Maybe a bit unlucky. Defiantly not his best.

HBA - 5 - The odd good run but nothing else.

Shola - 7 - Probably our best outfield player and that says it all about our team today. He did impress me and he was unlucky not to score.

Sammy - 6 - I don't know what to rate him or say about him. Every time I see him play one minute he is brilliant and the next he is awful. Takes after his brother I suppose.

    The ref - 1 - A disgrace to humanity.

What the **** are we going to do now with Saylor out for 4 months and Colo possibly out of the next few games. Our only other CB is Willo and he is out until the new year! Why the hell we only have 3 centre backs at the club is beyond me like. Whats wrong with Tiote aswell, they have said he will be back the past 3 games and then he keeps pulling out. We need to spend a shed load in January like, we need another two centre backs for cover for Saylor and Colo, we need another full back so we can play Santon and the new one. We need cover for the wings and we need a pacey striker who scores for fun. We were unlucky today like and 3-0 certainly flattered Chelsea.
