Our defensive options are still very good, Neil and rigg are brilliant at this level, Wilson is superb then we have the erratic unpredictablity of Watson, Ba, Adil, Mayenda who could all play a part, it could all work in our favour it’s going to be interesting to see how it all plays out I’m looking forward to it, it’s only one game then we’re only mundle away from being close to full strength again

It's a 46 game season, there are plenty of games left and we are top of the table. If he gets fit and comes into the side in December then it's a been a brilliant signing. Folk need to be patient, injuries happen. It happens in sport and sometimes you can't legislate for it. Very few of our signings these days hit ground running. Luke 09, ballard was injured, cirkin, alese, mundle, Clarke, browne, Stewart, huggins, Hume, mayenda. The list is endless. I think we need to cut the club some slack over this signing.

Browne played almost every game for his former club for years plays a handful of games for us and breaks a leg, nobody can tell me we aren't jinxed when it comes to injuries.

    It's mental

    How about
    moore
    mep/ ballard /alese
    o/9 / rigg / dan / cirkin
    mayenda/ isidor /watson

    Patto / Hjelde / Zak / / Crompton / Connolly / Bennette / Aouchiche / Ba / Rusyn

its a fluid line up of 3/4/3/ or 5/2//3 , To me this is still an attacking formation, as I would detail Mayenda to track this Cooper-man when he moves forward for the duration, and revert to leaving the remaining 2 forwards upfront on the half way line giving them something to think about on set pieces. That's the first thing that went through my mind when he got injured, I had read somewhere when he signed that he had played 10 seasons at Preston without an single injury .

I thinks it's sometimes down to players trying too hard. Browne hasn't been amazing so far and had the other injury a few weeks ago. The Coventry game got away from us, so he tried to win the ball to get us back on the front foot and got a whack.

Not particularly with Browne, but with others,it does make you wonder if our preparation is as good as it could be......not that I have any evidence of it mind. We do seem to have been plagued by injuries for quite a while now. In the case of both Samed and Abdoullahi, they were actually injured when we signed them! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I always look at Watmore as a perfect example always looked good when played but always had injuries then we sell him and he's always playing, same with mcnair too went to boro and played alot for them too.

And Proveda it seams to have been a strategy, and it has worked in the past , maybe it will be fazed out gradually, as the stakes get higher.

Maybe we don't notice as much when they are injured playing elsewhere, but both catch the eye more when actually playing .

That's pretty much the team I'd start, probably go for Patto in goals - harsh on Moore but Patto is our no1

Mayenda is good defensively but probably most importantly him watson and Isidor are all rapid so we can cause Millwall problems on the counter

I actually think a back 3 suits us a lot when Mundle is injured

Agree with everything bar I don’t think Watson is rapid.
My only worry is that midfield two

One big positive from our injuries and suspensions is the element of suprise we now have.

No one apart from the coaches and the team know how we will line up and who will be playing, makes it very very difficult for Millwall to come up with any plans to counter what we will do.

I have a nagging feeling RLB and the coaches might have something very different up their collective sleeves.

    Don’t mind the back three

for me tho whatever team he starts, Isidor has to be through the middle.

If Watson plays he needs to concentrate on helping his full back. Millwall will do exactly what Preston and Coventry did, loads of long diagonals over the head of the full back. That gives the winger running forward the momentum to attack the box ...

... but when Watson receives the ball over the halfway line he needs to run and keep running. The worst is that he'll occupy the full back and a central defender.

In his last game he was way too hesitant, slowed the game down and was swamped.

He was on the right though....he's much better coming in from the left.

I'd like to see this too,but I don't think it will be.If the front three are Wilson,Mayenda and Watson...imo Wilson will play on the right.

It could indeed mate. This is as talented bunch of players as we've had for a while, and even though it may look a little makeshift,I wouldn't rule anything out.
