The liked the looks of that Romeu guy out there today, kept Ben Arfa in his pocket for most of the first half and had a solid second.
It's the injuries that I'm gutted about, they mean we might lose the next 3 games rather than win them in my honest opinion.
I know, what a horrible position to be in after facing Arsenal, Spurs, ManC, ManU, Chelsea and a derby day away
No he isnt injured, AVB just prefers Luiz. probably because Luiz is better on the ball but Alex is a much better defender.
As a fan who watches Chelsea week in week out, Luiz is better than Alex. Not only better, much younger.
Luiz was a liability for you guys today and not for the first time. Really can't understand AVB's decision to stick with him with Alex waiting in the wings!
Maybe he's a bit like Colo? Comfortable and classy on the ball, but looks like a bit of a donkey in his first year in England and prone to errors? Colo was pretty poor for the first season with us (not helped by some of the clowns he had to play alongside), but when he settled and got used to English football he looks, and is pure class. Perhaps Luiz will follow the same model?
He is better at defending? really? I watch Chelsea week in week out as well and the amount of stupid defensive mistakes he makes is incredible.
apart from that last man foul, he was fine today. He's better than Alex who has also been a liabilty.
That's a fair shout with regards to injuries - ie could jeopardise our chances of coming away with maximum points etc. Is there any official word on Saylor or Colo?
Not my take on it at all, although I accept you will have seen alot more of them. Certainly can't remember a major clanger from Alex but Luiz has been shocking every time i've seen him this season.
Luiz looks likely to get sent off everytime he plays, he is a hot head and I hate that characteristic in a CB. Play him in midfield, he can charge around like a lunitic all he wants there.
Well two off the top of my head was that he let the goal in against Norwich early this season and he came off the bench against Leverkusen and I blame him for their winner!
After seeing a few of his surges through our midfield today that wouldn't be such a bad idea really. I haven't paid too much attention to watching him this season but certainly today he looked far more dangerous going forward than he did defending.
