Hi People I know I'm not prolific on here but I just want to say hi during this internatiomal break. The last couple of weeks have been a bit hectic as my firm has downsized (again) and moved to the last unit they own which is in Cambridge, my services were no longer required even though I was still training 2 of the 8 people on my assembly line and my 30+ years experience was ignored, I am currently in a legal battle with them as I feel (know) that age discrimination has played a part in this redundancy. The timing couldn't have been better though as my mum has finally moved to a flat in a secure complex as the family house was much to big for her and the upstairs was getting increasingly problematic even with a stairlift, so the furniture move is now complete and finishing touches are being added here and there to make it a home. Sadly I've had to uproot frfom Dorset after 16 years on and off and sold my caravan which I've called home for 3 years. The plus side is that I'm back home and dicovering that there will always be a welcome in sunny Wales Bluebirds ps If anyone knows of a flat in Cathays please let me know as my daughter and 4 others have two more years in Cardiff Uni Law and she has to give up the current flat every year for some reason.
This is not a plea for sympathy btw as I definitely wasn't wanting a move to Cambridge but put my name forward in April/May just to get a stay of execution until Christmas I've wanted to retire for a while now and the chance to sue the management for discrimination is a bonus as I missed out on redundancy payments as I had worked as a contractor mostly and only became full time 18 months ago as the previous government took away most contractor benefits HAPPY DAYS
All the best Turk. Well done on putting your name forward for the Cambridge move as it will give your legal action more validity. I hope it goes well.
Welcome home Turk. Maybe you'll get predictions in earlier now that the time difference between Dorset and Wales is removed! Have a good one! I presume the flat change is related to term times and short term lets giving flexibility and the chance to increase rents? We have a property in Frankfurt where the laws give tenants very good protection. Five years ago one tenant left after 6 years of 1050 per month and the new rent shot up to 1400......where it is stuck since!
Good luck Turk, I am sure things will sort themselves out for you and hope your Mum is happy in her new home.
Hi FfB I promise to predict before the whistle from now on even though sly sports is 90 seconds behind the rest of the world As for my mum's flat it's in a council run complex and it has everything she needs for £500 per month payable to the council It's all on the lower floor so no need for lift/stairs, secure complex door with buzz you in system if she's in a good mood it's got a large kitchen.bedroom, bathroom with walk in sit down shower things, living room and loads of storage, alarm cords in every room as shes prone to blacking out and struggling to get back on her feet after coming round. Also there are no heating or water bills as its all contained in this huge building.... and most of all - she fkn luvs it
....and if Masky can offer you a bed at all in Llandaff (call it a one night stand if you like), poke me anytime pal.....I've seen to a number on here, (BFB and IB were the best)! Masky Of Llandaff
I don’t think I could live with myself if I foisted this lot upon your good self Masked one … but thank you for the offer
I would imagine the queue for the bathroom in Maskey's residence would be horrendous if my little girl and her mates were renting rooms, but then again Maskey would have to get off the toilet at some point
