No one else has written one, so I thought I’d take my tinfoil hat off for a bit and turn my attention to the football: This weekend, Southampton host Liverpool at St Mary’s, and let’s face it—things are looking grim for the Saints. With a squad that seems like it was put together from the leftovers of a bargain bin, with tactics that bring the best out of the opposition instead of themselves, things could get tricky. To further add to the complications, our best player Aaron Ramsdale has broken his finger. Fan favourite Janny B is also out. Southampton’s makeshift defense, which last season couldn’t stop a paper bag, will have the pleasure of trying to contain Mo Salah, who’s already probably scoring in his head before the game even starts. Liverpool will waltz into the match, probably up by two goals before Southampton’s players have even figured out that the match has started. (1400?? On a Sunday???) The Saints will be hoping for a miracle, but it’s hard to see anything other than a comfortable win for Slot’s men, who have looked solid this season. Score predictions? I’ll go for 0-5
To be honest though it hasn't been the bigger clubs that have worried us too much. Yes we lost but we were expected to lose and get absolutely hammered and we didn't but having said that we had Ramsdale and Bedders.
And one last thing the only thing that scares me in the Premiership is the incompetent refereeing and VAR decision making. We would be on at least 8 or 9 points if delt with correctly. An apology when they have made a mistake ie Leicester doesn't give us points.
We’ll concede early, they will spend 2 minutes figuring out we pose zero threat and just coast through the rest of the game, scoring a second lateish 0-2
I don't know what I've done to deserve this occurring on my birthday. At what point am I allowed to leave? 0-4, 0-5, 0-6?
I haven't actually heard anything from the club or sources close to it about Ramsdale's finger since it was reported he was having surgery. It would be nice to know how long he's actually going to be out for.
There was a photo doing the rounds of him at Wembley and his hand was in a cast/bandage. So it’s definitely bad… I would expect it to be weeks before he is back personally
We're doomed boys, absolutely doomed. Whilst we've kept the score lines somewhat respectable this season, this will be a statement game for the scousers. Will be lucky to keep it under 5 goals. We'll be brave though so there is that.
