After the debacle of Musk destroying Twitter/X I moved to Bluesy a while ago and the last few days has seen a massive influx of Sunderland fans in particular. Thought it was worth mentioning for anyone sick of X/Twitter or Facebook. It's like old Twitter without bots or advertising. The more Sunderland fans the better! I'm on as darrenord.bsky.social
Yeah James o Brien is on there and you are seeing more journalists and public figures moving over. Pretty sure it's getting about a million new users a day. My timeline is full of sunderland fans now!
Good post mate. Anything that helps Sunderland supporters has to be a good thing ... ... I don't use SM much, and haven't looked at this, but I'll go on now.
James Copely is on there following all Sunderland fans and they are all starting to follow each other. Whether you like his journalism or not he's doing a cracking job of increasing the Sunderland fanbase and connecting them. I'm just randomly following Sunderland fans Will list some football accounts on here when I'm back home. Bryans Gunn, Cheap Panini, Sensible Sunderland, SAFC Source and Wise Men Say are all on there now for example . Hopefully the official club site will be on soon.
I had a close look at X after the Trump win. I rarely use it. On my feeds there were inflammatory pro Trump tweets followed by inflammatory anti Trump tweets and other similar UK versions. It’s literally programmed to divide and rule. Why was I even seeing random contentious Americans whichever side you’re on when I live in the North of England? Musk is a very dangerous individual and needs to have his voice and influence on us all reduced. I urge anyone whatever their beliefs to leave because they are being manipulated.
I did open an account on Bluesky... I quit Twitter some time ago and since Musk took it over I simply wouldn't trust it anymore. Seems like a forum for the worlds nutters to have a chat
This is literally what I've been saying for years. And it's reflected in how people discuss politics in general.
I left both Twitter and Facebook in September and never regretted doing so. I had over 5k followers but a don’t miss the cesspool. I am using Threads just now but will look at Bluesky.
I've never been on or used twitter, no idea what it is or does tbh. I'm on Facebook but I never post anything on there, I use it for marketplace mostly. Bit of a social media novice really. Would this forum be classed as social media?
