Im very worried about the fact Saylor looks a serious injury and Colo is f'cked also. Our lack of investment in quantity has caught us up.

Again I ask , would you have taken Ben Arfa off at half time?

I'm not the only one who at times struggles to comprehend Pardew's decisions.

Not blaming him for the defeat but thought it was a strange/bad decision to leave on Lovenkrands and take off Ben Arfa.

Unless you think Lovenkrands was going to cause more damage then Ben Arfa.

I thought that his subs were perfect ... Luiz was having a mare and we needed someone to help Ba but I agree that maybe Loven shouldn't have started ...

Also I've been saying for ages that Cabs and Guthrie don't win enough tackles in midfield ... it caused our defence to be under massive pressure against Manure and Chelskovski

Shola produced more in his half than Ben Arfa did in his.

Would I have taken Ben Arfa off ? No. That is another example of Pardew knowing more about football than I do

But why leave Lovenkrands on and take of HBA?

It's not like Lovenkrands did anything defensively so that argument goes out of the window.

Lovenkrands had his moments. Off the top of my head, I don't remember Ben Arfa doing anything

I was asking Pardew to take him off .... he wasn't providing anything and our wingers weren't helping him ...

Ben Arfa is capable of producing a moment of magic at any moment of the match , out of nowhere.

    Lovenkrands is not.

Which is why I would have liked to see Lovenkrands taken off for Shola meaning HBA would have played on the wing and he could have whipped in some dangerous crosses for Shola or Ba to latch onto.

No I wouldn't and I wouldn't have put Shola on either. But we were much better after the change and Shola nearly scored. In hindsight the substitution was a good one.

I agree and to be honest Pardews been great so far, however he's blind if he thinks Obertan and Raylor shouldn't have been subbed in the first half. How exactly is Santon going to get used to playing over here if we don't play him.

For what it's worth I wouldn't have taken Ben Arfa off for anyone. I know Shola had a good game in the end but Ben Arfa was certainly better than Lovenkrands. I would've took Lover off for whoever came on and stuck Ben Arfa on the left.

Oh for Christ's sake. For once a decision doesn't (thanks to tw pieces of woodowrk and a goal line clearance) come off and all of a sudden his decisions are bad ?

I rarely would pick the same team Pardew does. The one Pardew picks usually pick up points and today played with more pride and commitment than I can express. This was the match when I became a commited Pardew supporter.

Dude nobody is saying Pardew is a bad manager or that he's a **** manager.

Just makes some peculiar decisions from time to time.

Never said his decisions were poor, just saying what I would've done. I definitely support Pardew, always have. Felt Ben Arfa could've offered more though. Kudos to Pardew for bringing on Shola, definitely. He had a decent game. No one could've predicted that though, we all know how unpredictable Shola is <laugh>
