Well said, and yes you do have a right to be aggrieved, I would feel the exact same way. Like I say, you'll bounce back
He made one awful decision but a lot of refs would do the same as for some reason refs dont like to be sending players off early in games, even when its an obvious red. Dont know why that is but ive seen it quite a lot in all leagues.
You we would not be happy if it was the other way around, however I'm more interested in getting our best players on the pitch for Norwich, Swansea and West Brom. These are games we can win with our best players in the team. Without them were ****ed. by the way on Sky we had 53% possession but It was a closer game than the scoreline/ stats indicate. Everything went against us just one of those days.
One thing is certain - worst performance of the season by a LONG shot. And at home too. Shame.... But we'll move on
Yep, as I said I think you deserved the win today but all I'm saying is that looking back after that game, 3-0 looks like we rolled over and let you have us for the full 90 mins which just wasn't the case. (I also agree that your 3 goals were fair goals, I'm just saying that 3-0 looks an unfair reflection) Don't confuse bitterness about losing with our complaints about Dean though; the match has just finished and we're surely allowed to call him a **** for the next few hours without being branded as ungracious - any other ref would have given that a red card and you can't deny that if it was 11v10 from the 4th minute of the game we'd have had a much better opportunity to seize the game. Or if Luiz hadn't fouled Ba he may have tapped it past Cech for all we know which would also have changed the outcome.
Of course I wouldn't, but we outplayed you and deserved to win. May just be my biased opinion, who knows!? BBC stats back me up and if you ask any neutrals they probably will say the same thing. Good luck for the rest of the season .
Tempers are high at the minute, lads You deserved to win, no doubt. It's just a little upsetting for us that you got your 2 extra goals when we had our best CB off the pitch at the time, is all. Very end to end game, one of those days. Our worst performance of the season, definitely. See you in the reverse fixture!
According to Sky Newcastle had more possession and only 3 shots on target (though they don't count bar/post). We conceded 2 when we were down to 10 men and we were pushing forward for an equaliser. Chelsea have the better players and that showed, but playing with 10 men for 85 minutes would've tired you out and prevented you being so expansive up front. As it is, we can't know for sure if it had been a different result had the ref made the right call, but given the amount of chances we created against 11 (and the amount of chances you created BECAUSE you were still 11) its fair to assume we might have gotten a point at least! Dissapointed and bitter. But credit where its due, Matta and Sturridge were amazing today!
Yes, but you outplayed us when you had an equal amount of players on the pitch, which you shouldn't have had. Don't get me wrong, you outplayed us and deserved a win, though I don't think 3-0 necessarily represents the scoreline. Admittedly Sturridge caused Raylor a whole host of problems and tore him apart countless times throughout the game, though I don't think he would have had license to do that had you been down to the 10 men which you should have been down to. Plus we hit the woodwork a fair few times and had a goal line clearance. I'm not saying that we would have beat you lot 5-0 had you been down to 10 after 4 mins, but we would have had a fantastic opportunity to get something out the game (be it a draw or even a win). Surely you can agree that we have a right to be aggrieved by that early decision? I know you lot have had a few shockers go against you this season and that's the way the cookie crumbles and all that. Ahh well, losing to Man City and Chelsea and getting a draw against Manure is no disgrace. Like I said in an earlier post, it's the lower teams that we need to get points from, so if we can do that we can have a stab at a european spot this season. Good luck with the rest of the season.
I love Toon fans. Graceful in defeat and I respect the lot of you. I'll admit that Luiz should have been sent to the showers, but even though it was very lucky for us, I feel like we deserved a bit of luck for once. XD Good game and I'm over the moon mainly for AVB. We can build on this. All the best lads. There's still the reverse fixture. Look foward to it.
Hahaha that's it lad, putting it in perspective! What a crying shame we could end up 7th after 14 games!
Chelsea deserved the win on the balance of play, no doubt about that. But the scoreline is harsh on us. Yes we should have had an extra man for 85 mins and that could've made all the difference but we have to take that on the chin and move on. Only last week we were gifted an equaliser by an equally poor decision and we weren't complaining then. I'm more worried by the injuries to both our cb's and the effect that may have on our form going forward. Anyway well done Chelsea, good win for you and best of luck for the rest of the season (although with Mata and Sturridge I doubt you need it).
Sturridge surely deserves a call up to the next England squad? He offers something different - he's a tricky annoying bastard to mark/defend against!
Alex and Anelka have handed in transfer requests today. FFS I dont want to lose Alex he's a quality CB
What annoys me is that Dean decided to card Luiz yet gave him a yellow?? Shouldve just pretended not to see anything and wave on ... And take nothing out of Chelsea they are still dangerous going forward even if their defence lets them down sometimes ... A bit disappointed with the scoreline too ...
