Also at that gig, remember it being 10p though that could of being me being tight or skint ? This picture is in the new Welly Club book but is actaully a picture of a few of us at Blind Institute for that Crass gig, i am at the back of the group.
I was pulling muscles with Michelle last night.. well with the great songwriters Difford & Tilbrook at the connexin, Squeeze on form on their 50 years tour, cool for cats.
Anyone else at this gig? please log in to view this image https://www.packetofthree.com/1980/02/22/squeeze-22-february-1980-live-at-city-hall-hull/
Just struggled to get Olivia Rodrigo tickets for Hyde park, daughter has been nagging to see her live for ages. Jesus! Linkin Park playing Wembley the day after too, will make for a great fall back weekend if we fail in the new Glastonbury ticket lottery. I am expecting both will be on the worthy farm lineup too. Next year is gonna be so expensive
No, I'd spent my pocket money on The Clash at Brid Spa a few weeks earlier, never saw Squeeze back in the day, caught Glenn Tilbrook at Fruit in 2018.
Just looked that Clash concert up. It was 2 months after my youngest lad was born! Where does time go? Ha to think this year was 60 years since I saw the Stones, next year will be 60 years since I saw The Who there. Go back 60 years before that and the first person had only flown a year before.
Great gig! Glad Damon (Badly Drawn Boy) called out the talking during his set. Every time I’ve been to a show at the Connexion it seems that manners and etiquette have gone out the window for some people.
Saw them back in the day and recently. They played up here a couple of weeks ago in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall,it's a cracking venue, the acoustics are amazing.Saw Glenn Tilbrook round about 2018 in an old Church up in Glasgows West End(Oran Mor),small audience, downstairs in the bar, cracking night. They're still very good and put on a superb show these days even though it's just Tilbrook and Difford.
Saw them in Blackburn in August and Difford solo in Barnoldswick earlier in the year. Saw Tilbrook solo there last year too. Saw them as a band in Sheffield as well, probably 8-10 years ago. Definitely one of my all time favourite bands. Great tunes and clever lyrics.
