Why does he seem disinterested? He’s been quiet but everyone complained when he didn’t shut up. He needs to make a decision on Tim, maybe the fact he’s still here means he already has. We might not agree but then not everyone agrees with the Rosie sacking, so he’ll never keep everyone happy. Maybe he’s working on a replacement so there isn’t a gap between managers……who knows. He’s still funding the club so his interest must still be there
A couple of posters on here have suggested as much and he’s been preoccupied with Fenerbahce for months now. He disappeared over the summer and he’s been invisible since his Q&A. We have a manager under fire and he’s not present. Acun is a PR machine and he’s always talking to people. I don’t think he’d be capable of doing the job quietly if he wanted to.
He's been sat in his box for most games this season, he's only invisible if you don't look towards the west stand. He'll soon get tired of us if he has to rock up and do a Q&A every time some clown starts a rumour on Twitter.
He will be invisible to someone who watches and studies the game as though it was a game of chess. Especially if you are sat in West Upper.
Junior got a call to see if he'd play football against Acun the night before the Portsmouth game. Nothing odd about that, he's regularly played against Tan and some of the other club staff, the only odd thing, was that kick-off was midnight and the game was to finish at 1.00am.
Lost interest?;Well we'll soon find out as he's trying to arrange another q&a during this break. I don't think he has at all .... but he must be wondering what else can go wrong! We've been utterly spoiled in terms of how much visible 'attention' our owner has given us. I'm amazed that he's been able to. Now our expectations (about visible attention) need readjusting. And as said on 1904 podcast, it probably works against us if he gives us too much time as we need him to keep sufficient focus on his business interests. As others have said, Acun and the club surely desperately now need a really good DoF / CEO in place - maybe that's one of the things we'll hear about in this upcoming q&a.
The owner needs to either come out and back the coach or do the right thing and get rid of the out of his depth clown. If it’s true he laughed when Baz said you need to stop the opposition scoring and he just laughed saying we will score one more says it all the arrogant prick. So out of his depth it’s painful but I guess ill save time and will be able to get my golf handicap down whilst he is here because **** going to games under this idiot.
Well I'm certainly in a minority, there's not many on here still backing Walter, but I'll continue to give him the benefit of the doubt as I've seen quite a bit to believe he is a good manager. There's work to be done, but overall I like his system. I actually think the 4 defenders also have bought into it now, after an unsteady start. They are undoubtably the most important players in the system, and they have additional pressure/expectation on starting our attacks from the goalkeeper. I don't buy the rumours of players unhappy, etc, the WBA 2nd half showed the players sticking to the plan and busting a gut to equalise. I also think Walter has been unfairly handicapped by not getting a couple of players in that would have suited the system better from the outset, especially a good centre forward, although I thought Pedro had a good game against WBA. None of the opposition managers could have complained if we had won any of the last 5 games, and yet we managed just 3 points. The players, like last season too, need to make clear cut chances and opportunities count, and we have messed up so many - Simmons could easily be on 4 or 5 goals already. But, at the same time we have leaked soft goals. That obviously needs to be rectified, and quickly, if Walter is to survive. I would like him to be given more time, at least until Christmas, and I think he will be, so I just hope that the fans continue to get behind the team and manager - the fans were pretty good second half V WBA because we played well against a top team, same as games against Burnley and Sunderland. We could be just one game from turning this around! (I've always been an optimist!)
You're a very brave man. I put my application in for the Optimist Club.......but I don’t think I’m going to get accepted.
Haha, get me onto politics, societal decline, etc and I become an old cynic! The thread re:Orient away, I was at that game as a 10 year old and think that was probably the start of my optimistic outlook. The games never over!
