What's the workable solution to reducing someone's personal ownership of assets once it hits a certain value? An asset tax has never worked in the history of humanity... Actually had the opposite effect of reducing what treasuries receive.
I think that question misses the fundamental point. What the heck is wrong with humanity? How can it be that there is such obscene wealth & abundance whilst at the same time there is such dire poverty. How can it be that so many admire & crave such obsence wealth and ridiculous abundance. How can it be that humanity chooses to spend billions blowing each other to pieces rather than on ensuring everyone has sufficient, and lives a peaceful life. Etc etc. If scientists were apart from humanity and studying it (like human scientists studying the hoarding monkey) they would surely conclude that humanity is a ****ed up thing.
First time we toured Germany on the bikes we had a day off to have a walk round Karlsruhe - we were walking past a large department store and stopped dead in our tracks by a full window display of 'his and hers' sex toys, I have a picture of them on my phone somewhere (for the wife's perusal of course). On a footballing theme, we took a tram to Wildpark Stadium and had a peer through the gates, one of the groundsmen saw us and let us in for a quick pitch side inspection - it was a proper old school ground that had plans in place for a major upgrade.
It was an eye opener going down the Reeperbahn with my parents back in 1963 when I was 13. After seeing that it made you wonder what it was like down the side streets where you had to have ID to show you were over 21 to get down. Karsruhe did get a new stadia, Snall by comparison to a lot in Bundesliga 2. A shame we can’t have support like they get in their supposedly inferior league.
I'm glad they got their new ground, it looks good - the guy was telling us that it had been a stop/go carry on for years.
