But he's at Blackpool? Unless you mean Phil Brown? Too late now but Huddleston(e) should have been retained on City's coaching staff when he hung his boots up. He could have doubled up as club ambassador, a role that seems to have disappeared after Deano had done his stint. The Brian Horton 'experiment' was one of the clubs better appointments, and one of the worst knee jerk sackings at the same time.
This came up on a quiz show a week or two ago when someone had a question where the correct answer was the actor Tom Hiddleston but the contestant accidentally said Tom Huddlestone and it wasn't accepted. I can't remember which show it was, I didn't see it myself, just heard it mentioned on a podcast
I work for the Community Trust of another Championship club and our Media & Marketing team have quite a lot of contact with players, so I would imagine that those departments at the club will have even more and I’m sure things are said from time to time that aren’t supposed to get out into the public domain.
They would say that. No manager is going to say we have studied HFC and we knew how easy they were to beat
If Dawson, got it, he'd require assistance. His mate Barmby would be the ideal pick. Barmby was great for us, both on and off the field....And ten years is nothing in football. Look at Lineker he's been doing MOTD for 25 years!!!!!!!!!...Who'd have thought it? Dawson won't get it, because AI will stick with TW right to the bitter end, or just before relegation is all but confirmed.
Dawson has been part of the coaching staff at City for years and worked alongside several managers, stepping up temporarily as interim when the head coach is sacked. Barmby wasn’t even the best football coach at Wyke College after he left City. They’re not even remotely the same. The obsession with giving club legends jobs for ****s and giggles is so tinpot.
Presumably because Daws and Barmby also had a stint together on the coaching team at Scunthorpe. Not that that's any ringing endorsement either.
Yes but that’s ignoring the context that on every other measure he’s done a great job overall, just because a player failed to score one penalty kick.
We also shouldnt forget just how ****ed coventry were for years Down to league 2, absolute no hope They played home games at northampton and birmingham city Robins completely turned them around
Geez, Pep, Klopp and Mourinho working together as a trio wouldn't have been able to do anything at Scunny....That job was the best ever example of a 'poison chalice'. I still maintain that Daws and Barmby working together at City might do okay ie prevent relegation. But if the know-all's on here, don't agree, then sobeit.
I'm all for Daws getting a crack at it. I don't see any reason to bring Barmby back. He's been out of the pro game for too long.
he needs to bring in the best man available for the job, not someone he is close to as that clearly has not worked so far!!
