Villa were 10 men behind the ball when 1-0 down and still waiting for us to give them the ball…so we moved it sideways and it was a boring game for parts…..that’s not on us though….when they did commit, we had chances and scored. Under Klopp we’d have fallen for the trap and conceded. They were only a threat at corners really. It’s way too early to say but so far, so good….
Great result, you have to be ruthless and relentless when you’re main rivals are struggling if you’re going to have any chance and we’re really getting the job done well. Villa were disappointing, time wasting after 6 minutes and continuing to do so even when losing I cannot for the life of me understand how this ref is at the top of the game, he is absolutely terrible. I see him wave off that foul on Salah straight away and was in disbelief- luckily Nunez didn’t mess about (on that one)!!
Anybody else think that Mo's goal celebration was a message to the club along the lines of 'what else do I have to do for the new contract' ?
He could have easily given a penalty to Villa for a similar shirt pull tbf I thought the ref was okay for once tbh
I think we are exceeding expectations at the moment. At this stage we should have have draw three or more games. We only have one draw and lost won nine out of eleven. Not a bad form anyway.
Another great result with 2 lovely goals. Villa were a bit naive in their setup, I thought giving us loads of room on the counter. I wondered what the outcome would have been had Nunez not scored with the red card tackle on Salah being completely ignored. There was no signal from the ref to play advantage and I'm not sure how or if VAR could have got involved if the goal wasn't scored. As for questions about Salah's celebration being a message to the club, he's done the same celebration before. I wouldn't read anything into it.
What a twat - he’s a **** ref anyway but why make yourself a target with something like that where you know it’s going to affect your career.
Does make you question some of his previous decisions. He was in VAR booth for Ødegaard's basketball dribble when we played Arsenal last season. Makes you wonder why it has only just leaked.
