I was listening to this game on RH and turned it off when we went 4-1 down. Went out with some mates for a beer that night without knowing the final score -they were all raving about City's great comeback

Was there that day followed by an enjoyable night out in London finishing at Sid's pub in Bow (for those that remember it)

Can you remember the name of that pub and Hull connection? I went with City fans a couple of times after London games and slept over in the bar after the Brentford game in 85.

The Bromley Arms, we knew it because a girl from around here went to London nursing and that was her local pub and we got to know Sid and his missus and indeed stayed in the bar overnight. If you were in the minibus for the Brentford game do you remember the bloke with a squeeze box (and the carrier bag full of porn) we picked up on the way down?

That was it the Bromley Arms, yes I was, also hearing of the Bradford fire and the Leeds riot at Birmingham, same day.

I know the Bromley Arms very well. Just north of Bow bus garage in Fairfield Road.

Indeed, now sadly turned into flats and Sid himself gone even longer - makes you feel old!

i missed the derby comeback in the mid-80s. g/f away at college and miserable as sin, wailing down the phone so i went to see her for the weekend. 3 years later she ran off with some bar steward off her course.

    life lesson there, lads.
