Some guy said bet365 has frozen the betting, but I know nowt other than that. It’s the hope that kills.
I like Russ, and I`d be quite happy to have a few pints with him. However he`s become the Liz Truss of managers - everyone with more experience is telling him he`s wrong, but he`s in denial and won`t accept it.
It doesn’t take much to really affect those markets, bookies are **** scared of them. I reckon if I chucked £100 on him to be next manager sacked the bookie I did it with would suspend betting for a bit while they looked into it and made him 1/1000 favourite. They probably wouldn’t let you bet £100 on it either tbh
I really am at the stage now where I'm going to stop going to games if Martin stays in charge. I just don't get any enjoyment in going anymore. Even if we start a game well teams take about 15 mins to adjust and then we've had it. On top of that he's decided to drop Dibling for Armstrong which is ****ing ludicrous. Dibling and Fernandes are the only two outfield players that are exciting to watch. Archer is isolated up front - feel sorry for him TBH.
If we hadn’t been cheated at Wembley we might have had a different outcome. I think Puel had a very raw deal and in fact wrote to him to say that . He definitely got the best out of those players.
Here's a question. Would you rather spend the £14m it would take to move Russell and his team on, on doing just that, or on a new signing in January? Or would you rather sell a half decent player (let's say SAA) in January in order to fund the £14m to punt Russ out.
Instead of a new signing, yes as the impact could be greater. Having to sell a player to fund it might be trickier.
Is it really going to cost that much to sack him!? Crazy! What an awful, awful idea that contract extension was. Even if it was an automatic on promotion extension, I hope they've learnt how dumb that is and not to do it again. I'd rather move him and his team on and not spend in January, especially as we are likely to be all but officially relegated by then anyway. On the sell a player to allow us to sack Martin thing, depends on the player(s). I'd rather loan SAA out or give him some game time then sell him. We wouldn't get enough from his sale to be worth it.
