Sadly, SR still seem to be blinded by their loyalty to Martin. Russell Martin: Southampton boss defiant as Saints lose again - BBC Sport
Genuinely not the impression I got from them, Tom. As I've said (I think, I'm starting not to care about the trust bit now), there was an admittance they've had a look around and had conversations, but that there hadn't been a positive response back. I genuinely think if they thought they could bring in someone better, they would. Now whether they think a Rohl, or a Van Nistelrooy would be better is a different question (I do. They may not). What they do is 'like' Russell, and the players do too. Amused me that Parsons was an executive at Dyson, because "an executive at Dyson" is precisely how he comes across when meeting him.
Tweaked knee. Nothing serious - had it last game but hadn't fully recovered enough and he felt it again in warm up.
I'm inclined to agree. If you compare our results this season to the same fixtures two years ago (but replacing home to Leeds with home to Ipswich), I think we're already four points down.
I was offered a ticket in the Wolves end, thank **** I turned it down to watch my lad in the Dorset league
I felt exactly the same away at City. Russ has managed to install a pedestrian attitude to match their pedestrian football. Even at 1-0 down in injury time we ****ing played it backwards. There's no urgency, mentally the seem to think we'll be allowed to keep playing until we score, forgetting its a timed game. It's dull to watch, and it doesn't yield results and yet we do it again and again and again.
Had two poor decisions go against us but 75 % possession and zero shots on target sums up our weak attacking and boring play.
It was the City game that Russ lost me. The shamigans of not putting in the box. Lincoln you called it first, respect
That's the most depressing thing I've ever read on BBC sport. The SR clowns really can't see it, can they? Absolute ****ing amateur pricks.
"with the likely scenario being Southampton appointing someone to oversee Sport Republic's group of clubs." Yawn. Yawn. Yawn ****ing Yawn. **** Sr and **** their ****ty multi model.
Glad this isn't just me, this has bugging me for weeks! While he's certainly not had much of a chance, and I absolutely want to see him and Archer get some considerable minutes together, I really don't understand where this hero in waiting reputation he seems to have gained has come from. He just looks bang average to me like he did last time and like many of our other players. I definitely don't see him as this beast of a forward waiting to be unleashed who will suddenly start contributing to lots of goals. That said I'd still like to see him get more minutes as we've got nothing to lose by giving it a go. I'm going to keep beating this partnership with Archer drum as it just seems so obvious to at least try for a few games.
I really don't understand the posts about us playing really well in the first half tbh. Lots of possession yes but as usual we did absolutely nothing with it the vast majority of the time. Created nothing after the disallowed goal and I thought they looked far more likely to get a goal than us in the half hour or so after that incident. They looked threatening almost every time they went forward despite it being rare whereas we had the ball in their half for large periods and very rarely looked threatening.
Did VAR even check the second goal yesterday? Clearest foul you'll ever see just before it. The ref wasn't even looking at it when it happened either so completely missed it. Seems like the exact situation he should be asked to take a look at?
