Yeah the loans certainly helped but the fact they matched or broke our record transfer (at the time) 4 times in the season they were promoted played a part. Our method this year seems to be: Step 1: give contract extensions to unproven players/managers at the top level or players who were **** at the top level Step 2: sign players who did well last year because they are good guys Step 3: break Derby’s record
I know it’s not how the rules are written but I do think that the Villa defender should get a red card for bringing down Salah in that Liverpool goal. Last man. Denies a clear goal scoring opportunity (its just lucky for him it rolls so that Nunez has a second Goalscoring opportunity )
Next goal in that game is going to be huge (if there is one). It's only two weeks ago that Ipswich lost from 2-0 up.
Promoted team, new to PL holds on to lead against top half team. Guess what, it ain’t Saints. You have to score goals and be able to defend. Controversial tactics!
Saw the last 15 minutes plus 9 added of the Spurs v Ipswich and Spurs were clueless going forward and applied very little pressure on the Ipswich defence. Two players that could have done a job for us scored - Szmodics and Delap
Arsenal are another team that has struggled, in the league, since beating us. LDLD for their last four games. It’s the Saints effect.
