I've given Russell time understanding that he is working in real time to build and try and get results but now I'm just not seeing any signs of progress and it is worrying how he is being outmanaged during the matches. Wolves were there for the taking but we failed to put them under enough pressure despite all the possession. Dibling should be starting ahead of Adarma every day of the week and Jack shouldn't be playing if it dictates the formation or he should be in a back four.
That was easily our worst performance of the season. Wolves did a fantastic job at shutting the game down but we seemingly had 0 gameplan after the second goal and looked completely shellshocked. Don't think I can watch anymore Saints under this absolute depressing system Martin has us playing. It doesn't work, and he has been very vocal on sticking with it.
Two years ago was so bad that we went down with just 25 points, and yet we're still two months away from the point where I accepted it was over that season (the home defeat to Forest in early January). Pretty impressive to be so bad that I accept relegation on 9 November.
Hey at least we were brave when passing between the cb whilst 2 goals down. Russell martin has to go now imo. Would like to add that I respect what Russell martin has done for us. That day at Wembley will live with me forever ❤️
That has to be it now, please SR. I cannot watch this shi** anymore. I'm beginning to loathe Football.
RM, nice man, with an obsessive drive for possession based pedestrian football. Sort of worked with arguably the best or one of the best squads in Championship last year (just). Naively & possibly arrogant to continue in the same vein this year. IMO, Absolutely ****ing stupid with this squad. Continue & we are in danger of absolutely ruining a few somewhat talented & bright players. I accept no one falls on their sword but SR are custodians of this club & have a duty to fix. Edit; Spammers were going nuts but have now settled down & just think they’re ****. They have no idea.
International break gives a new man time to get used to the set up, do it now Saints if there is a decent candidate.
Certainly there was disappointment but we’d been gradually getting worse in all areas, whereas this year there was some hope that we just might get a toe hold in the PL, but that’s gone now, barring some miracle occurring within a week or two with the appointment of a seasoned manager. I don’t dislike RM at all but his tenure must end very soon, he simply doesn’t know how to set the team up at the start, make the right changes etc. To be fair the home support has held and the atmosphere at SMS is still good but once that goes, we all know what happens next.
RM will wazz on about how if the perfectly legitimate goal is allowed to stand, it's a different game, but the fact is that's 70% possession, no shots on target. We don't deserve anything with that.
