Went Nourry as recruitment is probably the root of the problems but injuries are the biggest affecting factor for me.

Without any shadow of a doubt, its Tony Fernandes. After we fluked our way back to the promised land via Mr Zamora's left foot, we should've got shot of Redcrap immediately and appointed a manager that would keep us up and slowly build on that. It was our chance to be like Brentford are now, we royally blew it. Everything that's happened since pales into insignificance, it should all be irrelevant. We won't get back into that position until most of us on here , are watching Stanley do his thing in the great gig in the sky !

    Please specify ........................ The players.
The manager can only do so much.
They need to aim up, especially Mr Stand Clear, his contribution has been consistently poor, yet he costs us much moola.

A few people going for Fernandes, which has some validity, but all he did was throw money at the club. The ones I'd blame from back then are the 'football people', Redknapp and Hughes. That was a long time ago, though. If Nourry does indeed currently have total responsibility for recruitment, there's a case to be made against him perhaps, but not all of the signings have been poor - Nardi, Saito, Dembele, Morgan all good. The biggest transfer crime is the lack of a left back - did the coach not say that he might need cover at left back? Again though, for me it's ultimately the man who has responsibility for putting the team out, instilling confidence, and dictating how they play that must carry the can.

The biggest transfer crime is paying out millions for 2 players who are nowhere near the standard of this league. That money was probably our budget for the next 3 seasons. The next biggest crime is not using the loan market to it's full and that incorporates the left back situation you mention.

Interesting reading Clive’s preview. This should be taken with the caveat Kevin Gallen is a surly, divisive figure these days and often critical of the club but he’s a scout. On a podcast in the week he said Madsen (MADSEN <sorry>), obviously an unknown to us plebs but well-known in the scouting community as someone various clubs had taken a look at due to his stats and concluded upon actually watching him that he was wholly inadequate physically for this division.

For the sanity of some I’d add that it’s still early days and any of these guys on worryingly long contracts can turn it around. If he’s picked I hope he has a great game and goes 1% of the way to proving us wrong.

"Other -Please specify" All the injuries. 8 or 10 1st team players Out is hard for any team, but for our low Budget squad with many new players to bed in, is a crisis. Who is responsible for so many injuries? We are just unlucky I reckon, we had our share of luck there last season.

The man ( whatever his name is ) responsible for health and conditioning ( or whatever its called ) last season, is currently doing the same job, part-time ( for full pay, apparently ) from his new home in dubai, over zoom.

Make of that steaming kettle of shyte of an arrangemement what you will.

I'm with Stroller on Madsen. All this rubbishing him based only on his bad defensive Boro stats/ performance, and totally ignoring his pretty good offensive stats/ performance for Boro, is very boring. He's not here for his defensive qualities obviously, but his offensive qualities. We are QPR and probably cannot afford midfield players with both. I read we spent 1 to 2 million on him as well, not the 3 or 4 being thrown about now.

Yeh, not a lot. Maybe he was good, but find it hard to believe one bloke would make that much difference.

Most likely more based on performance so on current form we won’t be paying the extra. It’s a lot more than Boro. He’s not made a single tackle, in midfield, in four of his last five games. I can’t stress enough what a cowardly performance he put in at Derby. Dozzell on whatever the opposite of steroids are. It’s not an issue if he excels in other areas but you can’t carry players defensively unless you’re a great side with the ball. Even then you’ll often get exposed if one or two aren’t doing the work.

As I said, **** as this season has been for the team and specific players, it is early days. We’re in broadly the same place as a year ago and it ended up ok. I thought that would be the case this season until recently but even Burnley and Sunderland worried me for different reasons. I stress again I desperately hope the bloke puts a shift in today if picked and things turn around for him.

If forums existed in the 90s we’d have had people writing off Sir Les. It can be done. I don’t think it will but it can.
