I'll be hoping this match is a bit of a Carr crash for Coventry <whistle>

"Coventry City interim boss Rhys Carr says being asked to take charge following the sacking of Mark Robins came as an "absolute shock".
Carr was previously a development coach, worked as an assistant coach with the Republic of Ireland women's team and was head of sports science at Bristol City.

His first task as interim boss is to lead the Sky Blues against Championship leaders Sunderland at the Stadium Of Light on Saturday."

Thanks for another fabulous thread RTB, Difficult game again as they all are and Coventry seem to be a bit of a bogey team. Add the dreaded manager of the month award to that. I still think we have enough to beat these mind but would go back to Mundle left Robert’s right and Wilson up top. A win is all I’m after and then a well deserved break for some of the lads to recover and come back all guns blazing. Fingers crossed for a home win and remember keep the faith lads and lasses.

I was a critic. I never felt he worked as hard as he could have done. I also felt he shirked some of the tougher aspects of the game. In possession he is a lovely footballer, but out he could be very average at times. I do think a less physically demanding league will suit him and he will have a good career. Hope he does, he was a nice lad all in and he took well to our club.

The point you made that I made to my mates was the in game stuff

RLB is the best Sunderland manager I’ve seen in my lifetime at changing things in game changing set up to adapt to how the games playing.

im not sure their interim will know how to react if A) we start on top or B) they start on top then we change something or we start on top they change something and we adapt. I can feel him getting frustrated.

this isn’t like any other manager change for me I agree with you

Just realised, watching the Watford game, Sunderland are currently the best home team in the league ...

... and the best away team.

    Which is nice :emoticon-0103-cool:

In my opinion this is the key game in our season.

Despite being clear at the top, and other sides showing their fallibilities, our two away draws have seen people posting about us being ‘found out’ or losing momentum. No doubt a win will have some claim it was due to Coventry losing their round faced little hero …

… despite claiming pre-match that they’ll be going for a win ‘for the gaffer’.

If we win it’s because we scored more goals, simple as that.

Right, a coffee and I’m in the car to Edinburgh for the train to Sunderland. The bridge across the Forth is closed until 8am so it’ll be a close run thing if I make that train.

    Ha'way the Lads, 4-1 and I don’t care who scores …

… as long as it’s Rigg, Roberts, Wilson and O’Nien.

    Thanks RTB another cracker !
Any win will do today, just get the 3 points and sit top for a fortnight and get them on the training ground and work on the basics. We were sloppy on Wednesday and it needs ironed out, I would bring Robert’s & Mundle back in with Wilson back up Top. I’m going a tight 1-0

Haway the lads. Remember to get into your seat 15 mins before KO. Display looks great, so be good to have the majority in place to execute it.

Coventry always seem to do ok against us, but they've mistakenly fired a sound manager. Hopefully the interim is like a rabbit in the headlights today and we get hold of the game right from the start.

So hard to gauge today. I feel pretty relaxed about it, which is sound.

Whichever way you slice it, they have sacked one of the best gaffers on the league. Not sure what’s happened there but I’d have had them as an auto contender let alone playoffs.

They won’t come to defend which can always help us, Sheaf is one of best players in league and there’s goals in Haji (when he can be arsed) and Simms (ditto x3). They are always physical at the back.

Would have been a great game to have Jobe, annoyingly, but no value dwelling on that.

We want to look for a fast start given their turmoil, and an edgy 2-1 hopefully.

Hopefully this young side with quite a bit of experience now can break another barrier and over come the Coventry hoodoo. I’ll go for a cheeky 5-3 in our favour this time. ;-)
