Yes you've already raised that point, just with different accompanying tweets. And I've already disagreed. I've been to plenty of football matches in various countries where minutes silence have been disrupted or disrespected, and it has never led to a city-wide hunt for anyone even loosely associated with the perpetrators.
No doubt Ajax will get sanctioned for this. In addition, PSG for allowing their fans to display a huge "Free Palestine" flag!!
So what is the BBC? Because they somehow haven't seen any footage of Maccabi fans vandalising property, assaulting people based on the colour of their skin, or chanting "Kill the Arabs" in a city with a 10% Muslim population prior to setting off fireworks during a minute's silence because apparently they hadn't been big enough ****s already
A colossal waste of money and/or a good place for *****philes to lie low for many years with impunity.
from the Beeb report Maccabi supporters attacked a taxi and set a Palestinian flag on fire. There are also reports of supporters chanting racist slogans about Arabs
The attack on the Maccabi supporters was premeditated and co-ordinated. It was not as a "response" to alleged things they did, it was too organised and effective for that. Demonising the victims is a slippery slope, one on which we already seem to have been sliding down.
Criminal,rapist,baby/mother killer,covid murderer.Perfect recomendation for president.Submarine pens beneath Mar a Largo I wonder?
The cost of living crisis is widespread beyond the US, as I'm sure you're aware. Biden's actually done a very good job addressing it and it was Vance that made the egg price claim in the supermarket. Starmer's inherited a similar situation due to Tory mishandling and their clear dishonesty over the state of our finances. If you think that the Democrats were bad for the Palestinians, then I suggest giving it a little while and reassessing. Trump's been very vocal about his support for what's going on there, so have fun with the alternative. As for Stein, nobody gives a ****. Everybody's know what she is since the last time Trump got elected. Latino voters clearly didn't care about a podcast host slagging off Puerto Rico or they wouldn't have voted for Trump in large numbers. You can claim otherwise, but the evidence says that's their position. The Washington Post story wasn't influential on the election either, just on the paper itself. It was an indictment of Bezos as an owner and those working there made it clear that was the case.
I was just pointing out to HBIC that the Beeb had referenced the Maccabi fans behaviour as he was implying they hadn't rather than justifying what happened .
They skipped that part of the story entirely in their initial report, only changing it around lunchtime when the volume of evidence made the initial version of events unsustainable Still haven't addressed the minor detail that, as per the Jerusalem Post, Maccabi fans had three Mossad agents escorting them the entire time which technically made them an invading force...
But were they on mopeds when roaming around Amsterdam looking for a fight...? please log in to view this image
Undoubtedly SOME Muslim men have sexually abused white young girls and young women. This doesn't justify the attacks on Muslims that took place in the aftermath in the name of "protecting our children". In the same way, SOME of the Macabbi fans were racistly attacking Muslims (both verbally and physically) but it don't justify attacks on all Macabbi fans or the anti Jewish racism that occurred. We are living in an age of extremes where everyone insists they and they alone are right. You only need to look at twitter, politicians and what passes for political debate throughout the world. I deplore what Israel is doing in Palestine but have no ****ing idea how people fail to distinguish the Israeli government from Jewish people. Jews are not killing Palestinians...the Israeli Army is. To not understand this is to support the logic of those that carried out the 7/7 and Manchester bombings. British people did not bomb Afghanistan and Iraq, the British Government did. I can only hope young people have more clarity of thought than is being shown by today's adults
Where did grooming gang accusations come into this? Like, it's just an odd thing to kick off with, no? I think you're glossing over what a lot of what the actual contentions are in this. Whilst I agree that you cannot and should not perpetrate violence against a group based on other members of a group(unless their goal is the same). This is people taking revenge against others wearing the wrong kind of football shirts, we see that all the time. I don't like it but the injuries aren't out of step with regular hooliganism, neither are the causes. Portraying it as anti-semitism or a targetting of Jewish people in general, which you imply, is very speculative though. If the goal was looking for Jewish people to attack there are plenty of easily identifiable places to go to to attack Jewish people that live in Amsterdam(as there are in London). Those are the easy targets, if the target was Jews. But instead the attackers simultaneously knew what hotels the supporters were staying in and also roamed around on scooters across the city to find them, we're told. It's just obvious bollocks. It doesn't take 2 days to get a few kids on scooters to scout and it wouldn't take an hour on a couple of fan forums or scoial media to find out some locations the supporters were staying at. A "European" club's fans went to a country, disrespected the minute's silence for a European disaster, chanted racist songs, disrespected locals and on this ocassion some of their fans got lumped. Doesn't require mass condemnation from the entire West, does it? Where's the evidence they premeditated it or targeted Jewish people at all.
