I think out of all vvd is most likely to stay. I’d say has more chance than not. Given the position he plays age is less so a factor. Fact he’s captain. Dutch manager and seems to be making the right noises. Salah I think depends where we are. If we’re fighting for titles and he wants to break records then he’ll stay. TAA I think will be gone. Unless the noise about Madrid is just that, if another big club comes in for him I think he’ll take it as a big pay day and get away from the pressure of being home grown guy. Think his ego is telling him he should be talked of as best players in world and prob thinks Madrid with Bellingham there will help him settle.
Get this with VVD and Salah but ironically not Trent (I say ironically because he's the most valuable). Trent didn't cost us anything in the first place. I still think all three will stay.
Yeah, mentally he's already left. I wouldn't be too sad if we let him go early for a fee, even if it is a mere fraction of what hes worth. TAA has been a good player for the club but his heart isn't in it anymore and I think that's hurting us on the field
Latest rumour is he is off in January for a minimal fee, but the club are denying it saying they have no plans for players to be leaving in January
I don’t want to lose Trent on a free. If we lost Trent for a huge fee, I could live with it because Slot has built a solid system which is now less reliant on him. with that said, he’s a still a world class player with years in the tank. Would be a shame to lose him
morning Jim afraid he has already gone imo and a huge fee just won't be happening with the contract situation as it is .
If we have cash this January and assuming players are available, what is the priority? I’m still saying a 6…… The Summer could be huge with potentially 3 first 11 players on their way…..but for now. One midfielder would do it.
agreed. We really need a playmaking 6 and an upgrade on Robbo. I’ve been hypercritical over Grav when he joined as I didn’t feel he fit in a Klopp team and lacked aggression and intensity. But my word, Slot has added both of those to his games. He’s been sensational, however, I still don’t see him as a 6. Someone like zubimemdi will be ideal, and we move Grav to 8.
That would give us loads of options there with Zobo, Jones, AMC already fighting for two spots. Be a nice problem to have though
If we.have money then get 3 contracts signed. As you know I wanted that lb last summer. Right now we are just getting by but we will be down over like a kipper in some.big game through thst channel. If there's one I'd money up now. The list is obvious. Vvd new contract (2 years is ok) Lb as priority. Salah new contract (1 year or 2?) Endo replacement (we will get down up like a kipper playing this guy) A proper 9 who can hit the target and stay fit. Maybe look at Benedict Arnold's transfer situation. Rb has the replacement ready.
I agree that, if possible, get what we have tied down. I do not underestimate how hard that might be and it may well be, for the good of the club, that we have to let one or more go. Correctly, they are trying to sign up the likes of Konate first. Whatever we do with these three, becomes the benchmark for everyone else…. Endo is limited but tried hard, I don’t like to slate him for that reason. However, I would prioritise a playmaking 6. At LB and RB we can wait to the summer and we have enough forwards to manage for 6 months.
At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what we think of Endo. Fact is, he's played a total of 20 minutes in 15 PL and CL games so far, despite being available. So Slot clearly doesn't rate him, or at least, doesn't see him in his team. That's not a great situation for us or him, and it might be best to move him on so he gets playing time while he still can and we can use the slot either for someone Slot wants or to develop a younger player. Supposedly several clubs are interested in him, but that's according to Caught Offside, so it's probably made up.
