In all honesty it never even crossed my mind at the time. Interesting that the Sky pundits/commentary didn't really pick it up

I thought that was a strange call, every time Wilson has featured on the wing it's been on the right as far as I remember, and Watson plays on the left like the Clarke regen he is.

Seemed odd especially to play Watson (slightly) out of position on his debut start.

Funny because there number 6 should have walked on 70 mins for a second yellow. Even commentator said the ref looked and thought about it.

Didn't help he got it confused with Hume's tackle in the box.

Last thing from me tonight. We aren’t in the best two sides in this division and the fact we are even in the debate for that is testament to how hard RLB has made us to beat.

I do fear that our fanbase are now expecting us to maintain a top two challenge which was always going to be a long shot.

9 points clear of 7th place is for me just a wonderful head start in the fight for the playoffs. It allows us a blip of a few defeats which if we’re sensible we all know will happen at some point this season. It happens to all teams.

and in previous seasons we’d have lost at least one, probably both, of these last two games. The fact we’ve drawn both whilst playing poorly is a good sign for me.

the form will return and when it does we’ll have done well to keep this buffer we’ve given ourselves.

    Precisely …

… Blackburn, Norwich, Leeds, etc all have poor result.

Our results weren’t poor, we’ve had so many away games tbf.

Just getting phone on charge now. Two points from two poor teams away from home. Something needs to improve if we’re serious about promotion we can’t rely on Leeds etc dropping points every week. Poor showing tonight we were the worse team.

We’re not serious about promotion. Not automatically anyway. That’s not our fight.

And anyway - Leeds are probably right now saying “we can’t rely on Sunderland drawing every game”.

We’ve dropped points against Plymouth, Preston and QPR though. Two of those will be battling relegation and the other more than likely a mid table finish at best. We are good enough to challenge the top of the league that much is clear. If we don’t raise our standards then we’re becoming accustomed to accepting ****, again. We should be beating these teams.

Sorry but this is the problem. Accept ****e and you’ll be happy with whatever the outcome. We’ve already proven we have what it takes to go head to head with the teams in the league. The 3 relegated teams aren’t even playing 2ppg, this season it’s there for the taking. We should be striving for automatics and if we drop into the play offs then fair enough, but if you’re dismissing us this season when the championship is weak you might as well just concede that we’ll never get promoted.

Think we have had a tough run of games and I am not generally looking forward to international breaks but I think the squad is looking jaded and a rest might do some of the players good , we really missed Jobe for the last game and a half . We have survived and came away with two creditable draws and are still top with Coventry at the SOL on Saturday though I think Régis needs to put a lot of thought in to his team and formation selection to ensure we go in to the break in as strong as possible position .

I’m not totally convinced we aren’t top two tbh. Leeds are the most talented team but they keep giving up daft points. Sheffield United and Burnley keep grinding away but I don’t think they’re really more talented than we are. It’s tough to separate the top 7-8 for a variety of reasons but I wouldn’t be surprised to see us finish anywhere in the top 8 - including first!

of course we are going to try for automatic promotion.

but this idea that we’re failing if we’re not achieving it, so therefore must win every game, isn’t right
