RIP to the person who passed away. From the pictures of the overturned lorry, I’m wondering how that managed to come about. First thought is the lorry driver has made a massive fatal error.
Awful that somebody died and quite right that the road stays closed if that’s what’s needed for the police to investigate what happened.
There are so many in vehicle distractions these days it's got to have a link to the standard of the modern day driver. To turn an artic over suggests either late breaking, drifting into another lane/ central reservation etc. Wagon drivers used to termed as Professional status, I see very little professionalism when observing them on these roads today. I'm in no way suggesting the accident was his fault as obviously I don't know the facts, but to end up straddling the central reservation doesn't look good.
Agree mate. Just to clarify, when I made my original post,I was looking at a traffic jam.....at that point,I had no idea of the severity or that someone had sadly lost their life. The overall point I was trying to make though still stands....too many vehicles, sometimes badly driven, on roads not equipped for the volume of traffic. And the holier than thou piss takers can **** off.
Never confident with midweek away games tbh, especially after an away game a few days earlier Not been impressed with them when I've seen them but the championship is such an unpredictable league that you just never know what will happen
Everyone needs to be mentally ready for the commentators to be on Preston’s “side” tonight. The narrative is often to root for the underdog. It’s a compliment.
I do hope he makes a couple changes, just feel a wee freshen up is always good when it's 3 game weeks
I feel I had to comment on this one as an experienced hgv driver with a lot of years under my belt, there are plenty of other reasons that you haven't mentioned that could cause a catastrophic accident like turning an artic over and to suggest it's the standard of modern day driver is daft. I can tell you that there is a lot more good professional drivers that have to take action because of idiots behind the wheel of vehicles on the road today, we are professional drivers as we have to go pass a lot of tests just to sit behind the wheel and the fact that we have to pay for a certified of competence which is sitting in classrooms for 35 hours being taught by somebody that has probably not got the age or the experience that most of us have. The biggest idiots to hgv drivers on the road are the ones that won't stay behind large vehicles so take risks just to get in front of them. It's easy to call out the professionals though as it's a case of they should know but every driver should be aware of the dangers of artics and how hard it is to control them
