The West is feeling less wealthy and wants to return to it's heyday - problem is the World has changed but nationalistic blame it on the immigrants parties benefit. Around the world? As far as I'm aware, only US citizens are allowed to vote. Many of whom would vote Republican even if Donald Duck was their candidate for president.
