The first game in a while I thought we might get something and we take a massive backwards step like that... coaching team and players looked totally lost and demoralised at the end, a really bad defeat in so many ways. I don't know where we go at this point
Not good anywhere on the pitch or the dugout..piss poor waste of money watching this **** week in week out. Waiting for somebody to mention money constraints/FFP etc..the default go to chestnut excuse that's reeled out all the time.
I really thought under Marti we would even maybe sneak into the play offs. The friendly games were concerning but don't always mean anything. However this season has been shocking so far. At times there is some good football, but there has been bad defending and not enough attacking football. Not sure were we go from here but it may be Division 1 if we do not rectify this soon.
The recruitment has made us look weaker. It's a **** show. We could well finish bottom of this league. He's a stubborn **** is Marti, not flexible in his approach at all. The most boring football or lack of football I've seen in a long time. Even under ainsworth, I expected to lose and it was more bearable as I knew he was clueless. Marti came in and gave us some optimism and hope. New signings arrived like someone had used football manager 24 to scout players, utilising them in a formation that offers little to no attacking threat and it's all gone to ****. I'm not paying hard earned money to watch this dross.
Fox, Ashby, Morrison on top of that for what it’s worth. Nobody seems to recover quickly. Paal and Dembele fair enough that’s unfortunate though having only Fox as a serious LB option who also gets injured a lot is negligent. You can’t seriously build a team so reliant on JCS and Colback. We’re lucky Cook and Field are pretty much always available and one of those is likely to break down at some point. The signings had to be good enough straight away to think about getting away with that and those who have stayed fit have contributed next to nothing. It’s been abysmal from Nourry, the analytics bod they trust or whoever is ultimately responsible for the recruitment. You can blame tactics, subs etc. and rightly so to an extent but the team picked today is just not a good enough team to win a second division football match.
Marti is completely lost, the players look lost,no game plans. The upper management are bloody useless,my club is a ****ing basket case. why give him a 2 year extension? Beggars belief! Expecting him to be tin tacked asap
I think Marti will be given to January to turn this around. If still in the bottom 3 in January they will panic and sack him.
I genuinely don't know what say he has. Would be interesting to know how the cub is being run cos from my seat it's a complete and utter **** show.
We’ve done this before probably more than once. I’m sure he has some say. Most likely he says the positions and attributes he wants and the bods do their sums and come up with the best they think they can afford from that.
From what I can gather, the hierarchy use some weird system to locate players that fit into a loose 4-3-3 system that the club is trying to implement from the kids to the first team. They base it on age and potential sell on value. Seems like they've ****ed up on the latter
That was just awful. Other than a 10 minute spell before half time it was flat and inept. No cutting edge no plan no invention no runs no testing passes. Never a good pass always a sideways pass... They cut us apart. Santos had to go as he was having a nightmare. Saito was the option to attempt to cover Doak. Yes we have over half the team out injured Colback Paal JCS Dembele Fry Ashby Morrison Fox And now probably Chair. But we started the season with one LBack and our starting RB is a central defender. We started with 2 untried CF, Frey seems to be the business...but Celar isn't. We are overloaded with midfielders none who can make a cutting pass. The only positives for me this whole season is Varane who seems to be getting to grips with things...and Morgan who might become okay...if not scarred for life. If nothing drastic happens in the November international break...we will be relegated
Nothing on that list of players make much of a difference to be honest. Even when they were playing, we were ****. What you highlight tonight is what I've seen all season, it's nothing new. We can bang on about missing JCS but in reality, he's missing most of the bloody time and when he does play we may hold out for a 0-0 at best.
