There was also talk previously that whatever ban he got would be backdated to March. That never made much sense to me since he's been playing all this time, not banned, but it was reported. If that is the case then he's already served 8 months.

Think that might have been grasping at straws.

35 years as a chef, never heard of anyone frying chips in peanut oil, but searched it and apparently it's a thing. Every day's a school day.

No the antihistamine he took is on the banned list. It's not a masking agent.

Half the bans handed out are for prescription drugs.

Personally I think it’s another poor decision by the club
Morally and ethically we shouldn’t have touched him

It's actually pretty good news. He should receive a ban for failing a drugs test. It's frustrating that it's taken CONMEBOL so long, but it's not surprising. It's going to CAS, so there will be a fair and independent decision, and it'll almost certainly get reduced.

There is supposedly a part that will get back-dated as he did get suspended when it first came out but was then allowed to play again but I'm not sure how long that period was for.

Fans will moan but as has been said it's the only way we were signing him and he's got a shed load of talent so I don't mind it to be honest.

Not having your cm involved in the build up, which solely consists of the back 5 ****ing about with it with no one to pass to, is insanity.

    We havent signed him

We got him on loan, its a dumb decision all round
    Wasted limited finances

If he was our players, its different

It's really not dumb. It was a calculated risk, with a small downside but a chance at getting a very talented player for a fraction of his potential value.

They'll aim to reduce the ban to under a year, and we'll trigger the option. We knew he was getting banned; that's why they stocked up on midfielders.

When I look at wasted finances, the far bigger problems are the likes of Rushworth, Racioppi, Sinik & Pedro (I'd even throw Palmer in there to be honest as it was a weird signing).
