While my guitar gently weeps is one of my all time favourite songs, love Clapton on the song but tbis acoustic version is musical beauty
Now I love all the classic rock bands but here’s a glimpse into who I saw as a fresh faced teenager innocent of the world’s ills. Starring chronologically these were the first I ever saw live. - Joe Satriani Newcastle city hall (it was the 90s but can’t quite remember when) Pantera - Newcastle city hall 1994 - Terrorvision Newcastle Riverside 1994 great memories, especially pantera as they blew the electrics !
Couldn't let today pass without posting this. Too much to hope it's played tonight but we'll see. This will, most likely, be the last chance to see him, it's a miracle that he's playing so close to me and that I managed to grab a ticket. Whatever you think of him he's respected, and covered, by endless top musicians, singers and bands. If you haven't heard this song play it without a break, in the dark, on your own and with headphones or maximum volume. It's a rambling song with a strange arrangement and an old man with a croaky old voice ... ... I can't say any more
Enjoy yersel Smug, not often you get to see someone like Dylan in a small venue. Much more up close and personal than the big arenas, or even worse, stadiums.
Have a great time Smug, I envy you. He's got some great reviews from Bournemouth and Liverpool so I hope it continues for you That song sends shivers down my spine every time I listen to it
December 5th, 1980...I was at Newcastle City Hall. AC/DC, Back In Black tour, I'd just turned 15. Couldn't hear anything the next day at school.
I don’t have to play this to like it. First time I saw them was 1982 October 4,5 or 6; got a feeling it was 5th at NCH. I was at Monkwearmouth College….bit like you I was slightly hard of hearing the next day.
Seen them at NCH in 82 as well on the For Those About To Rock tour, and oddly enough, I was also at Monkwearmoth College.
