Same old same old... when doe's it sink in with Ange that alot of these goals are preventable... really frustrating seeing another goal like that go in.
It’s interesting the perceptions we have of some players because I think Bentancur’s the only one that’s really turned up so far. Everyone else very meh - and that’s probably a bit generous.
He's grown into the game I agree, but lucky to escape a booking there. Sarr has been my stand out so far.
Son and Solanke have worked hard but have been woeful. The ref is awful and Vicario just ain't strong enough under pressure. Villa are decent and we're still in this but changes are needed
The Maddison conundrum is a definite head scratcher. Not been in the best of form but is equally the one midfielder capable of making something from nothing with a pass or shot. I reckon we’ll see him on after HT.
Similar story to this fixture last year. We are dominating, but losing. The quality in the final third isn't there. So many hospital balls and zero shots on target tells you all you need to know. Son is playing at a walking pace and Brennan has vanished again after his recent purple patch.
Well, boring game and we’re 1-0 down. Not much to really take away from it, no one is really excelling and Villa seem very comfortable dealing with us.

It’s like the Arsenal game. Lots of huff and puff but very little quality. Can’t wait to watch Martinez spend 30 minutes laying on the ground in the second half.
We're not giving Villa enough credit. They are where they are for a reason. Emery has them extremely well drilled and they are better in possession under pressure than almost anyone we've faced this season.
A frustrating half. Lots of huffing and puffing when we break with the ball. We seem to cover ground and create decent attacking situations, but it just seems to amount to nothing. Really unconvinced by who ever seems to play in our front 3 these days. Johnson has had a decent spell recently, but no one else offers anything. I dread us conceding goals like we have today, because I find myself scratching my head how we’ll score more than 1 to win the game.
Yeah Brennan just seems one of those players where if he doesn’t score you’d never know he was on the pitch. Even during his purple patch his all round game was anonymous. Good and instinctive finisher though, might be worth sticking him up front. Solanke just seems to think he’s a ball winning midfielder.
Absolutely amazed we didn't try to sign Amadou Onana in the summer. He's what our midfield needed imo.
