I think he was better further forward. His vision and some of his passes under mowbray were phenomenal.
I love reading your posts mate, and I think like you a lot of the time. I dont think you would target a player at all. I do disagree with you on Neil though. I think if you take him out of this team the whole is much less than with him. As for the board loving him. Not so sure. I do, absolutely, and I know a few others do too. But since he broke into the first team under Johnson he has been criticised on here like all players have. He continues to get grief and praise. I dare say, had Neil made the tackle Jobe made today the uproar would have been greater. He doesnt get a free ride in my opinion at all.
I do agree he’s better as an 8 than a 6, he looks lost as the 6 imo but I know that’s an opinion not shared with everyone. I think the problem is that we now have Rigg playing as the 8 and I’m not sure anyone would argue the case for Neil starting over Rigg as the 8 because Neil is generally poor in front of goal whereas Rigg can make things happen. I feel conflicted with Neil because I do like him as a player and he loves the club but i just don’t think he’s our best option in any of the midfield roles anymore.
I feel like a bastard saying it though mate because he is a good player and he loves the club, we all know that. I just don’t know if the captaincy and the new role at once was a good idea, maybe I’m over-critical and seeing faults in Neil because nobody else is really doing much wrong (even O’nien much to my admittance). And it’s a new role whilst surrounded by kids which can’t be easy. We’ve seen Rigg make his fair share of mistakes which leaves Neil in the lurch but you almost can’t be too critical of Rigg because of A) his age and B) the match winning moments he’s producing
I didn't see us today, saw Isidor miss a decent chance, but was more miffed he didn't try take a touch, but he's the striker! Saw Jobe's tackle, no complaints. Lad is ferocious and is capable brain farts. No more please! It's a good point from 60 mins on, but by god, their team was makeshift to ****. Field centre back? We should be doing better, the worry is we've got Preston away, who usually are a home side, then Coventry who are hitting some form it seems, with some good strikers too. I fear we are turning ourselves around, it's brilliant to be 10 points clear of 7th, but ambition shifts when you show what you can do. We could do with a win vs Preston now. Le Bris will come undone I fear, by not making decisions earlier. As good as he's been.
Fair play qpr you've managed to stop the juggernaut that is safc from scoring and taking 3 points. Shame they had to dive and cheat there way to it. Never mind
100% agree RLB is very pragmatic Likes the idea of us playing high pressing football but when it comes down to it plays to win points. Really doesn't seem to care what people think. Could easily have continued the press with 10 men looked great but lost. When Jobe went off he seemed to just say sod it not our day we're getting a point. From then on QPR really didn't have a good chance. In the end points win prizes. When we are playing well open up and enjoy it like last week but on an off day take what you can and move on.
A kind of Flash Summary (didn’t see the full 90 so not a full fair view) Poor result going in but with the circumstances showed a different side to us. Need to learn how to deal with teams going at us, they respect us a lot now and we have to deal with being a big game against poorer opposition. Got to do better getting through the press. My few mentions: Moore - very very solid. Hume - first half was his best of the season, great on the ball. Jobe - sigh. His red summed up the performance really, unnecessary. Browne - gets forward well but doesn’t have Riggs magic. Roberts - needed more in that type of game. Should be a prem player but today shows why he isn’t. Mundle - poor. Been quiet for a few games. Close to needing a couple games out of the team. No direct replacement though? At 3:00 this would be a bad result. 60 minutes in, it shows how hard we are to beat. But if we’re serious about top two, we need to deal with teams treating this as their biggest game of the season. I’m going to Preston mid week and we need to get a win. The 9 points going into this makes it an ok result. Keep the faith.
I have to say I'm not too worried, they lost at home to Bristol City today with only two attempts on goal. It's hard to agree about RLB's decisions when we're top of the league, scored and won more than anyone else. I can't wait for Wednesday, the support will be excellent as it was today.
I did see the first 75 tbf but mentioned in case I missed something in the last 20. Thanks for the in-depth reply mate
I agree with this. Sometimes you need to take your medicine. Who knows what the promotion points total will end up being but we are one point closer to that then we would have been with a defeat. We lose that game last season.
Aye. Was sat in the airport last night when the lads text to say there was a question mark over him. Twitter goes into overdrive and you assume the worst. Great to hear he's ok
Watching his next game is going to be a nail biter ... ... every time he goes down people will be holding their breath.
