They do what they're drilled to do day in day out by the coach (be it Walter, Rosenior, whoever). And the coach makes the decisions about who starts, who stays on, who comes off, who replaces them, where to tweak what's not working, etc etc.
Not saying he’s a bad player and think you’re agreeing with me, I said Kane wouldn’t get a sniff in this team hence not being Pedros fault. We don’t supply the strikers at all it’s just ****e in general.
Don’t like to see anyone connected to the club lose a job but in that second half City looked so poor in so many positions it was embarrassing at best and was an insult to those whose pizz must have been boiling. It’ll be interesting to know what The Big Turk thought of that and just as importantly how long he’ll wait to sit Walter’s down and ask him face to face how the f’ck he allowed it to happen.
Drameh was constantly coughing up possession and misplacing passes. Is that Tim's fault? You could argue it is for playing a right back at left back however he can't pass the ball for the players. Too many had off games today, Drameh, Hughes and I'm yet to be convinced Kamara is any better than Longman or Jarvis.
Doesn't feel like we do enough work on playing the opposition. Just feels like the same set-up every week, regardless of who we're up against. The focus is so heavily on "the style/Walterball". Ego-driven nonsense.
Maybe the manager could play kamara and drameh in their correct positions before we write off the players.
Yes that is Tim's fault if everyone else can see Drameh was having a bad game then why can't Tim. Should have swapped for Giles or what's the point in having Giles on the bench
Could be. I said previously up to this next break. Started wobbling, now really wobbling! It isn't improving like I expected and hoped it would given time he's now had, players he's had settle in and available, etc. So, quite possibly Tuesday then Sunday might well be defining. Having said that, I haven't yet heard his interview, but if he is now blaming the fans (really, was that the case?) then he might just have pushed Acun's patience too far. Talking of which, Acun must be so gutted - there's no doubting his intentions, but as someone else posted, it's his gambles that haven't paid off. If there is a change, it surely has to be someone (?) with a proven record, some real nous and ideally someone who isn't conceited, delusional, naive enough to think they've got some magic formula that nobody else has thought of.
We don’t often agree but from what I’ve seen of him most games this season there’s definitely a player in Drameh, think he’s occasionally allowed to be let off when he’s ****e when he’s constantly out of position. Kamara I’m not sold on but would like to see him on the right wing and see what he can do in his preferred position.
That game was as bad as some of the pre-match predictions on here.... 'Easy win, guaranteed etc'....I could go on but won't. First half they (Portsmouth) were the worst championship side I'd seen in a long time, but we just seemed to want to canter, and play around at the back. Second half they wanted it a lot more than us... If we lose to Oxford and WBA, then TW can roll up his caravan and **** off.
Agreed Other managers seem to tweak things during games and we never seem to be able do Very one dimensional Even our subs are all like for like swaps
But then on the first half performance you could say they obviously were. Its not the playing side of things ( off the pitch ) that's the problem or were things aren't great
I agree with that, however I can't agree with some of the other rubbish I hear at the game and read on here. We are trying to get a talented young squad used to a new system and from minute one all they get is fully grown adults screaming 'forward' at them. If people cannot see the progression that first half at Burnley showed then they need to watch it again. It's a work in progress and too many had off days today.
I agree credit to Pompey. BUT the opposition know EXACTLY how we're going to play. They pressed us high, hard, with 5. IF Walter's system is going to work, then it has to work today against Portsmouth (poor but hard working side playing as a team). There should have been acres of space to play into behind their press. It didn't work. But we'll keep doing it. I don't think you can blame the players, it's the system (that they are being drilled in and expected to execute), our predictability, and not setting us up to maximise our strengths.
