Sounds like proper awful first half but much like a few other games, Slot manages to turn it around at HT and get a second half performance out of the team. Resilience in this squad. Arsenal and city defeats always handy. Villa home saints away before huge game v city at Anfield on 1st december city away to Brighton next week. Let’s hope Brighton play like they did first half then Arsenal away to Chelsea. Some huge games next week
It looks like the answer is no. Brighton were not the same team in the second half thankfully. We were the far better team after the break. Hard to say which of the three goals today was most spectacular.
Once again I apologise for using the wrong glass. Once I changed it to my usual glass for this season, a Hobgoblin special, we improved and eventually won. I assure you I will not make the same mistake again!
Kelleher saved the game for us in the first half. The main problem was the passing, but it wasn't inaccurate passing so much as it was Brighton anticipating all our passes and getting there first.
Played like their lives depended on it second half, we were great. Gomez, Tsimikas and Kelleher excellent and kept them at bay
Hard fought win made better by the other results. Great goals again. Trent in a very feisty mood. Brighton players flopping all over the shop. Whatever the opposite of masterclass is, is what our passing was today.
Thought both Jones in particular but also the other subs with the possible exception of Diaz did well . good to see likes of Endo getting game time as they will be needed though the worry has to be CB where Slot seems to have little confidence in Quansah .
Have to give it to Brighton that they were excellent. Have to say jones changed the dynamic massively Huge compliment to Brighton for us to park two 6s to try see it out
yeah however bad we were first half a lot of that was due to the intensity and drilling of Brighton . Thankfully all changed , as so often ,after HT
Last season we were never really on for more than 80-85 points. If we get anything like 95 it would be a great achievement. And quite possibly enough to win the league. About 75% of the way still to go though.
Our next six league Games. 9/11/ Aston Villa (H) 24/11 Southampton (Away) 1/12/ Manchester City (H) 4/12 Newcastle (A) 7/12 Everton (A) 14/12 Fulham (H)
