It's not always the ref. The ref on Saturday was definitely not on our side, luckily the linesman was though! In all seriousness though, sod's law rules my life so I think it's only fair that my football team have my share of good fortune too.
Sad state of affairs when my only luck backing Sunderland has come on our manager being sacked first.
Yes he is Dave. I've always admired him and was one of the few who said he would produce the goods for you. Yes, you may pick up a few injuries along the way that may hinder your ability to maintain your current form, but you've got off to such a great start that your probably safe already. AP has done a fantastic job for you and if you can maintain your current form, he's got to be in with a shout of PL manager of the season, come May.
MON is a good manager, look at the state of Villa when he left, when he gets a decent striker in january you'll go up the table, unfortunately.
He suprised me massively, but in fairness he did well at Reading and West Ham (until their board unsettled things). I think he is proving himself to be a good gaffer who has made some shrewd signings. The proof of the pudding will be when he gets a run of bad fortune, a la Bruce.
To be honest Pardew has to be the only contender for manager of the season so far. Given the problems at Newcastle over the couple of years (And the boards insistence to still give it a good go and screw it up) and the way he's got your team organised with a couple of creative players he's done one hell of a job, always thought he was a good manager and thought he'd keep you comfortably in mid-table without the threat of relegation but so far he's way over exceeding my expectations for Newcastle. Here's to hoping if it happens O'Neill can just get us comfortable in mid-table, that's my aim for the next 18 months. Oh and to get some wins at home, get a bit of hope back in the fans. I for one am fed up of home games now.
Bitter ****s, no-one can say how good he is going to be, but I bet my left nut his record will be nowhere as good as pardews. Maybe you may win a Derby in the next 5 years but highly doubtful
Penis envy never manifested itself so grotesquely than in Arfa 'Donald Trump' Lobon, south Africas answer to no ones prayers. Pardew was ridiculed by us when he was appointed and despaired by Newcastle fans. 12 months on and the ridicule has ceased and not many Newcastle fans are in despair. That's testimony to what if has achieved. Absolutely the front runner for manager of the year but one word of caution. These things are only judged after 38 games and not 13. That said, Pardew has proven qualities and speaks a lot of sense. If seems very relaxed and very polished and my west ham pal would have him back in a jiffy. I look forward to the next derby with much more enthusiasm. Should be a belter.
I'm not O'niells fan... I wouldn't want any manager near my club if they had gone down on paper saying that "Carew is a better player than Ibrahimovic"
