This weekend we travel for another away game to start a 3 game week. A journey to south Wales beckons for Norwich City this weekend as Johannes Hoff Thorup takes his side to face Cardiff City on Saturday (KO 3pm). The Canaries have drawn four of their last five fixtures, including two-goal comebacks against Preston North End and Middlesbrough. Wins against Watford, Derby County and Hull City make it seven unbeaten for Norwich in the Championship. Squad update **UPDATE** Sargent - OUT - Until the international break at least with groin issue Slimane - OUT - This week at least with hamstring issue Fassnacht - IN- Back training on grass with the rest of the team Springett - IN - Back on grass training sooner than expected. McLean - OUT - 1/3 game suspension Gunn - OUT - Targetting return after International break Nunez - OUT - Potential return just before the International break but JHT wants to limit risk. Barnes - OUT - May be back on the grass in the next week or 2 Gibbs - OUT until Christmas Hernandez - OUT until Christmas The Opposition The Bluebirds had to wait until their eighth attempt to pick up a win in the league this season, losing six of their opening seven. Since then, however, they are five unbeaten and have climbed out of the relegation zone. Their most recent outing was a 0-0 draw against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. The Manager Omer Riza After the difficult start to the campaign, Erol Bulut was dismissed on September 22 with Omer Riza taking interim charge. Riza, London-born or Turkish-Cypriot descent, was in the Arsenal academy in the 1990s and would go on to have a career in both England and Turkey. After spells as head coach at Cheshunt and Leyton Orient, Riza has worked in the youth development systems of Watford and the FA before joining Cardiff. Positive vibes!!! ON THE BALL CITY!!!
Given the upturn for Cardiff and three "big" players out for Norwich, a 4th consecutive draw will be a decent result. I am not even sure we will get that to be honest.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Sainz, Sargent, Slimane, Swarthau, Sorensen, Crnac ( sounds like it starts with an ess).
I WISH SKY SPORTS WOULD JUST SHUT UP https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...a-sainzs-championship-goals-so-far-in-2024-25
Not good news: Sargent out at least until the international break maybe longer with a groin issue. Slimane also missing today with hamstring issues
It bare bones time, Fassnacht and Springett make the bench. Im suprised to see Forsyth start ahead of Gordon
5 starters out of the squad for this game and at least the next 2. It could be a rough week. But opportunity knocks for the rest of the squad now
Scrappy half so far, but the makeshift lineup has done well with 68% possession, 7 shots and 93% pass success rate.
