    It’s absolute insanity.

A friend of mine has a relatively small business. He’ll now be paying £400-500k extra a year in NI.

People will 100% have to be let go because of this. It’s a budget written by people that have never worked a day in their lives and don’t understand anything about how the economy functions.

It’s disastrous for farmers, small businesses. Hair salons etc. are ****ed.

    Complete and utter disaster

I do wonder if there was a GE next week if Labour would get back in.

Perhaps they would, as long as there are fatties and poor people, there’s always a safe vote.

@Osvaldorama I get you really hate Labour and trust me I'm really really not a big fan of some of their social policies and grandstanding but surely you can see that pissing off people like this is a good thing?

    https://x.com/LondonEconomic/status/1851989281671131292?s=19

If their economic plans are upsetting those with 60, yes SIXTY houses, then crack on as far as I'm concerned. I don't know your socio-economic background but I think we're about the same age, the Tories aren't interested in the likes of us. This could be the kick start of a bit of help for our generation (unless you're secretly landed Gentry and have been playing a blinder on here:emoticon-0105-wink:)

It’s so short sighted though. The politics of envy.

We need a roaring economy with smaller government and lower taxes. What’s happening will make everything worse over time.

I am no fan of the Tories. They destroyed the country; no doubt. But this labour government are next level.

If I am wrong - I hold my hands up. I’ll check back in 4/5 years if they last that long.

But currently they’re doing almost everything to benefit huge corporations and international banking interests and NOT the British public.

That guy that owns 60 houses has probably built up over time. Provided a valuable service and escaped inflation by buying hard assets.
If he sells it will be to a huge bank who will then control rents across thousands of houses.

The end result of most of labours policies is exacerbating the wealth gap. The poor will get even poorer. They’ve borrowed EVEN MORE. The causes of the country’s problems haven’t been addressed. They’ve been amplified.

You bet your arse it's the politics of envy. 60 houses is pure unadulterated greed. You say they're providing a valuable service, I say they're massively pushing up house prices and preventing the likes of me ever being able to afford one because I'm paying people like them their mortgages instead.

I'd say housing is where my politics are most socialist to be honest. Landlords are not and will never be a service.

    This is moronic.

Why don't we spend two minutes in your brain.

Exhibit A. I am no fan of the Tories. They destroyed the country; no doubt.

Fantastic. He understands the dire situation the country is in. He says he recognises the country is "destroyed". Destroyed! That is the worst thing you can do to a country! Destroyed! Gone! Smashed! Ruined! This boy gets it!!!

Exhibit B. But this labour government are next level.

Oh wow! Oh no! I've been bait and switched again! Labour are even worse than a party that "destroyed the country; no doubt"! Oh ****, they are so bad. A five year old might even say they are the WORST GOVERNMENT EVVVVVEERRR! (Check previous page - oh, you said this? Sorry!). So, the Torys in 14 years DESTROYED THE COUNTRY (no doubt!), but in less than half a year, Labour are worse. Why? Because... identity politics, or something?

Exhibit C. If I am wrong - I hold my hands up.

Hahahaha. ****. Have you admitted that the reason you got banned from TWO boards was that you turned the actions of one deranged murderer into an attack on all muslims yet? I have never seen anyone banned from TWO boards before. I guess that is normal and nothing to do with spreading racial hate. Just within the last 20 posts you told 4 lies about me, which when called out on you couldn't find ONE SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE. Because liars throw ****, they don't clean it up.

Exhibit D. But currently they’re doing almost everything to benefit huge corporations and international banking interests and NOT the British public.

Explain this. Because this feels like one of your right-wing lunatic talking points. Not one political or economic commentator has made this point. I guess you are smarter than... everyone?

Exhibit E. That guy that owns 60 houses has probably built up over time. Provided a valuable service and escaped inflation by buying hard assets. If he sells it will be to a huge bank who will then control rents across thousands of houses.

This is so desperately classist. Oh, my overlords will have to have mere millions of pounds in profit and not be able to keep everyone else in subservient obeisance. Haha, no you wouldn't say that as you don't have the vocabulary. The very fact you defend people owning 60 houses tells us everything. You have no sense of what is actually good for normal people. It's almost like you live with your head buried in your nether regions.

Oh wait... let's look at the next exhibit!

Exhibit F. The end result of most of labours policies is exacerbating the wealth gap. The poor will get even poorer. They’ve borrowed EVEN MORE. The causes of the country’s problems haven’t been addressed. They’ve been amplified.

The last 14 years have accelerated the wealth gap at a faster rate than any time in human history, but apparently borrowing some money is going to make it worse. Well the truth is it is just about as bad as it could get. It's just that one person here hasn't even noticed.

You don't want to borrow. You don't want tax. You want people to feel richer - but you don't want to regulate the people with all the money. You can see the country has been destroyed. What is obvious is you want your cake and to eat it too.

That's quite a wage bill your friend must have if a 1.2% rise in NI equates to 4 - 500k for their 'small' business. That'd be about 1000 staff on 40k

It's not just the 1.2% rise though is it? They have to start paying NI contributions when an employee starts earning more than 5k, rather than 9.1k.

15% of the extra 4.1k is £615 per employee. So yeah, that could affect a lot of businesses. It won't be adding half a mill on to any small businesses though. And any that think it will have such appalling mathematics that they were doomed anyway.

About those maths lessons you were kindly offering, you and your 'friend' are the ones most in need and don’t understand anything about how the economy functions. Another dollop of bullshit from Os displaying intellectual impairment

Agreed on the numbers. But people shouldn't be ignoring the threshold lowering.

No; definitely not. They completely lied to everyone. About almost everything.

Their manifesto was a complete fabrication. They’re spending 10x more than they promised. It’s absurd this is even legal. The lies are worse than the Tories in previous years.

Blaming the Tories is already getting old. Soon they will have to be accountable for the disaster that they are creating.
