One unbeaten So after an incredibly FUN cup tie against Stoke, it's back to the premier league with the visit of Everton in what is surely a must win game if we're going to have even a faint hope of avoiding relegation. Everton started the season just as poorly as us with 4 straight defeats albeit without the FUN that we've been so lucky to experience. Since then though they're unbeaten in five with two wins and three draws putting a whopping 8 points ahead of us in the league. Can't be arsed to check but feels like we've actually got a pretty decent recent record against Everton at home and have already knocked them out the league cup this season after winning an incredibly FUN penalty shout. Prediction - Unfortunately I think this Everton side under Dyche are set up perfectly to counter the way we play and will run out 2-1 winners. We'll almost certainly win on possession though meaning we'll have the most FUN which is what truly matters. Be nice if they scored a couple of own goals again. That was a lot of FUN UTFS - Up the FUNning Saints

This thread seems to be less FUN than the last one I think that they’ll try and compete with us for possession and so we’ll try and have more FUN by shooting a lot 1-0 Bree
Sean Dyche is clearly the most FUN manager in the Premier League, after our own dear Russell that is, so this game should be an absolute barrel of laughs from start to finish.
Reading an interview with Ashley Young, and his comments about the way they played Fulham was that they were happy to give them possession. Their game plan was to just stay in shape and force Fulham out wide and deal with the crosses and try to take advantage on the break. Might be a case for starting Tall Paul to at least give their CBs someone to worry about in the air, especially as we struggle with compact, well drilled defences.
The revival starts Saturday! I FUNk we'll beat them and kickstart a little run and we'll all look back to squeezing past Stoke as a turning point. It won't hide the issues with the playing style and crop of players but a bit of confidence and positivity is going to start running through the squad and onto the fans I FUNk.
I fear my Summer change of Partridge avatar, in readiness for the Premier League, has had a detrimental effect on our results. A further change is needed to turn this around. I've therefore made a mid-season Partridge sub, controversially, for a less FUN looking Alan. Hopefully this should do the trick. Saints 2 - 0 Everton! Ahaaaaaaaa!! COYR!!
In true Southampton fashion, after a section of supporters being really chuffed with 'just losing 1-0' to Manchester City and praise heaped onto our manager and style of play by Pep and punditry I predict we will get our arses whooped by this team. It's something we do. It won't be fun.
Sort of, but actually our two wins in the cup and point in the league have come from games where we scored first
