Does anybody know what the craic is with his latest injury problems? This guy frustrates me so much. I honestly thought he'd turned a corner back in August with some top class performances at CB, he physically looked in top condition aswell. I see him as a key player when fit, and also a top LB aswell covering Cirkin.
Luckily Not really impacting us at present as Mepham and Onien are absolutely superb in there. cracking player though. His injuries might simply hamper his career progression.
Same with Huggins both seem like they could be very good players of they could keep injury free. I say often that in my totally clueless opinion it seems like they could do with spending a few million on injury management and prevention facilities. Seemed great under Allardyce then it all went out the window. I know one or two on here understand that stuff on a lot more than me and have said similar.
Absolutely. But apparently it is not done with the player’s post career fitness in mind. Only from what I’ve heard from my friend who is a sports physio. She said the techniques are really bad for you long term. She used to work at the club
Feel like we need to be looking at something, obviously not great if creates long term issues, but surely technology thats available now there must be something that assists injury prone players....odd thing with Huggins it seems to be different serious injuries each time
Whatever we did with Cirks, do it with Alese. Easy to forget that Huggins long term issue didn’t relapse, so club did a great job there. Just very unlucky. Having them both as options, along with big Dan, will be massive. Add the missing midfielders and you are thinking ‘****ing hell this is a SQUAD and a half’
Spot on! When you consider, with everyone fit,we could have a completely different back 4 than we have now......Huggins,Seelt,Ballard,Alese.... a line up which would hold it's own with any other team in this league.....says how our squad build has been so impressive.
Cirkins injuries were probably not preventable. Millwall, put his head in to score, gor punched in the head and was out for weeks woth concussion. A lot of his are to do with him just being brave and getting stuck in
Cannot get over how good and big this squad is now. When everyone is fully fit, you're struggling to get good players on the bench.
Interesting mate. I remember reading that in that period players fatigue and therefore potential of injury was closely monitored and their training programme would be individually tailored to allow for recovery and lower injury chance. If that above is possible it's what is needed, that and anything that improves recovery after training and matches. But would never want to see players rushed back or given short term solutions that cause long term problems at the end of careers.
Yeah just what my friend said hi Worked for SAFC told me. She was a physio when Allardyce was there. Just said the technique is great at the time, but will make the players suffer early. She hated the techniques. But “did as I was told” as she was on good money
Bryan Robson wasted a lot of his career due to injury, going into tackles that maybe he shouldn't have. Cirkin is exactly the same in my eyes. Hopefully he calms down with more experience
Perhaps the club are pleased with their strength in depth and are just taking their time / being very cautious with injured players.
