How long has Callum Jones been with us now? He looked like he had sown potential when I first saw him. Saw him play against scarborough a season ago for forest green I think and he didn’t stand out at all

 

5 years now. I remember he was a decent prospect in our League One season but hasn't made the step up sadly

 

- Henry Sandat was an unused sub in Wealdstone's 3-2 win over Braintree Town

- Yuriel Celi was an unused sub in Universitario's 2-1 defeat to Sporting Cristal

 

Hey, at least Yuri is making the bench now, that's progress.

 

Cameron Gray has returned from his work experience loan with Barton Town

 

He has since joined Brighouse Town on a month's work experience loan. Will be good as it's a step up going from the fifth tier to the fourth in the non-league pyramid

 

Paul Iggulden has extended his loan at Stocksbridge for a third month

 

Anyone know what "work experience loan" in football actually means? It comes up every so often and it seems such a strange term to me. It must have a specific meaning in the rules or something,

- Callum Jones played 80 minutes in Morecambe's 5-2 defeat to Chesterfield

- James Furlong was an unused sub in AFC Wimbledon's 3-2 defeat to Port Vale

- Brandon Fleming came on in the 81st minute in Doncaster's 2-1 win over Bradford City

- Henry Sandat was an unused sub in Wealdstone's 2-2 draw with Ebbsfleet United

- Paul Iggulden played the full game and Cameron Gray played 71 minutes for Stocksbridge and Brighouse respectively in a 0-0 draw

- Sincere Hall played 65 minutes and Kyle Fanning played the full game in Liversedge's 0-0 draw with Consett

 

Thought Furlong had made a promising start to his loan. Dropped well out of favour now.

 

That crossed my mind too, if he can't get a regular game in league 2 at 22 years old, then unlikely to be a long term prospect for us. Having said that, Simon's didn't pull up trees at Fleetwood, and has broken into our first team.

Similar with Fleming, he started well with Donny but seems to be on the bench now, though I think he may have had an injury, which might account for it.

Genuinely, what's actually gonna happen to him when his loan runs out in a few weeks?

 

His contract runs until July.

The whole situation is baffling.

I guess he'll become a free agent. The one thing that won't happen is that he ever plays a game for us.
