They are all not born here, some have no British 'blood' at all, some are the wrong shade for you and at least one of them is gay. I'm not British, I am Scottish!!!! We Scots have been "****ed" by successive Westminster Governments. I don't really think this is relevant. If he WAS an asylum seeker nobody would be saying "Ah, right. In that case it's perfectly okay to burn down a hotel with asylum seekers in it." But it's not impossible that it will have legal implications given that some people have been imprisoned for "Islamophobic" posts on social media, and there's also the question of how much police forces knew and whether they deliberately pressured people into pleading guilty to offences because they knew this information would come out eventually and it would be much harder to get juries to convict people once this was in the public domain.
I normally have you down as fairly sane but this is more crazy talk. Attributing the negative acts of an individual to a whole group is the very definition of prejudice. Not one person went to prison for calling the attacker a terrorist or for saying he was muslim. They went to jail for saying something needed to be done about all muslims - and for threatening people who had noting to do with this. None of these people went to the police station to protest outside. They went to places where other people - not related to this guy in any way - lived and abused them. And said things like “I don’t care if is racist, we need to burn the hotels down with them in it.” Stop defending racist scum.
Spike Milligan was Irish. He's a good example of how a term like "British" is complicated. Having a passport only means so much. For example, if for some reason I moved to Japan and eventually became a Japanese citizen I still wouldn't describe myself as Japanese.
I agree. But if you had English parents but were born in Japan and lived there all your life, you would feel and be Japanese. Likewise if you went there at an early age and lived there the rest of your life.
You're so tiresome. I didn't say anyone was sent to prison for saying the attacker was a terrorist or a muslim. I said people have been jailed for their posts on social media. Lee Dunn from Cumbria was sent to prison for 8 weeks for posting memes on Facebook. Didn't go to a police station to protest, didn't go to a place where people lived and abuse them.
