He's the typical example of someone having the talent and dedication but needing serious coaching. Is he trying too hard to impress?
No I don't think so, think it's more getting used ti a new position tbh. As I said he was decent until his sending off On another note we should be looking at Lennon Miller from Motherwell, really impressed with him
We'd need to sign him quickly to have a chance. I was expecting Clarke to name him in the Scotland squad but he's brought Craig Gordon back in ... ... If Miller makes the Scotland squad he'll move out of our scope imo.
He will still be in scope but there's a lot of interest. The u21s have a big game so not sure if he's in that one as he should be in ahead of Irving
Have to hope the loan has a similar effect to the Mayenda Hibs loan, looked disastrous but proved fruitful.
Total waste of time that loan deal, need to recall him in January if we can. The lad needs to be playing every week to develop
Loan update: Oli Bainbridge at Killie, played 1 minute in September, has yet to get on the pitch in October, 4 appearances in total. Matty Young at Salford, played in all (3) the cup games but has been benched for the league so far, still time for him to get into the team. Caden Kelly at Darlo, 3 appearances since joining a couple of weeks ago, has been shunted onto the wing. Hemir at Juventus, 9 appearances and one assist. Nectar Triantis, 5 appearances for Hibs so far, looks to be a regular starter for them.
Jay Matete continues to impress Sunderland loanee making positive impact at Bolton Wanderers | The Bolton News goal.. The coolness of Jay Matete from the penalty spot... #bwfc | By Bolton Wanderers Official | Facebook
Update: Nathan Bishop - Wycombe. Played 2 games, got season ending injury Matty Young - Salford. Warming the bench. Seems like a waste of a loan. Oli Bainbridge - Kilmarnock. Barely featured since debut v Celtic. Another waste of a loan Jay Matete - Bolton - 13 appearances, appears to have finally broken into the team. Has completed 90 mins in last 4 games. Bolton 6th in the league. Pierre Ekwah - Saint Etienne - Completed 90 mins in all 9 games. SE have 10 points from 10 games Nectar Triantis - Hibernian. Started every game apart from a suspension. Playing mainly as a DM Timothée Pembélé - Le Harve. Took a while to get into the team, but has started last 2 games
To be honest, apart from Young and possibly Bainbridge I can’t see any of this batch of loaners ever playing for us and the fact that their loans haven’t worked out is a pity. Bring those two back in the window and get them loans which get them game time in the second half of the season.
I would hazard a guess that less than 10% of our academy graduates will make more than 5 league appearances for our first team and I'm probably being conservative with that estimate.
Good to see Matty Young get 90 minutes in the FA Cup on Saturday. I really do hope he can break into their league side before long
