Bristol City ‘Parked The Bus’ Insists Leeds United Star Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier feels that Bristol City ‘parked the bus’ against the Whites at Ashton Gate on Saturday. The Whites were looking to pick up another three points in the Championship after wins over Sheffield United and Watford, and they did start as firm favourites to beat Bristol City. Daniel Farke’s men could find no way through though and had to settle for a 0-0 draw with the Robins. Meslier feels that Leeds were searching for an opening which could have come from a set piece or a player in space, but it never came. He is of the view that Bristol City parked the bus, but feels Leeds need to learn from such tactics as they are sure to continue to encounter them. “A set piece or something like this, you never know, or try to find the player in free space”, Meslier told LUTV. “We just tried to move their block. It was not easy because they play pretty deep. “They parked the bus. “They are not the first team we have faced who play like this. We have to get used [to it] because it will happen again for sure. “It’s a good challenge to be honest, but we like challenges and we keep going.” Leeds may find their next opponents, Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road, taking a defensive approach and trying to frustrate the Whites. https://insidefutbol.com/2024/10/27/bristol-city-parked-the-bus-insists-leeds-united-star/664758/ Pascal Struijk issues five-word Leeds United verdict after Bristol City draw with team assessment Pascal Struijk has given his Whites verdict after Saturday’s draw at Bristol City. Pascal Struijk has issued a five-word Leeds United verdict on the conclusion of Saturday’s goalless draw at Bristol City. Leeds served up 17 attempts at goal compared to Bristol City’s four and four shots on target as opposed to none from the hosts yet ultimately only left with a point. Taking to his Instagram page, Struijk declared that Leeds “deserved more than a point” but saluted his team’s efforts at Ashton Gate. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...s-united-verdict-on-bristol-city-draw-4841606 Daniel Farke makes ‘wasteful’ Leeds United admission after Bristol City stalemate Daniel Farke believes that Leeds United were “wasteful” in front of goal in their 0-0 stalemate against Bristol City. The two Championship sides faced off at Ashton Gate on 26 October and the point means Leeds are still third in the table, five points adrift of the league leaders Sunderland. In quotes reported by the Yorkshire Post (27 October), Farke shared that even though the Whites did “more than enough” to win the game, things just didn’t go their way in front of goal. “We always play to win, rather than avoid losing, and we did more than enough to win this game,” he said. “But we were not at our very best and were wasteful in front of goal. It was a very solid away performance, but we had so many good situations to score. “If we had got one, it would have opened things up and I am sure more would have followed. But we are respectful of Bristol City, who have started the season well and are a very good side. “There is frustration over not getting all three points.” https://motleedsnews.com/news/danie...nited-admission-after-bristol-city-stalemate/
I don’t think we ‘parked the bus’. We were certainly rattled when McCory got injured and did a fair bit of defending, but I think ‘park the bus’ is a bit harsh.
I watched the highlights on ITV and we looked well second best tbh Of all the chances they showed, none of them were for City
That’s because we’re lil ol Brizzle. That said, we never tested their keeper once. I thought Leeds were good, but not great, perhaps the poorest Leeds side I’ve seen at the Gate for a few years. Take out Gnoto, and they really had no other attacking threat. If, and it’s a big if at this point, they get promoted, they won’t last long in the PL on what Insaw yesterday.
Leeds weren't exactly overwhelming in my eyes but you could see the potential in them that just failed to show up on the day. I wouldn't say we really parked the bus but when McCrorie went off the rules changed and we did fall back towards our goal and at times looked a bit shaky. The unbeaten home record is admirable but how many points were needlessly thrown away during this streak and considering our last 3 at home were draws with only one goal scored our position in the table could be so much better. Mayulu and Armstrong need wake-up calls unless they are prepared to even look interested and that makes me wonder whether they both think they are better than the other and therefore we can expect fireworks or at least some damp squibs. There is no doubt we have to improve our home record and if my memory serves me correctly we were once the draw specialists in the football league and that may still be the case. A 30% increase in home points could solve a lot of our issues but frankly I don't think we are quite there yet.
Park the bus-i have had banter with Leeds fans and they said it was refreshing to see us attack them. Goalkeeper is talking out of his backside.
And we went two up top for the last 10 mins, I bet they didn't expect that the way the flow of the second half was. Hardly parking the bus
It's the delusional mentality of Leeds fans and players. They think they have some divine right to be in the PL, and all other smaller clubs should bow to them and simply let them pass. For me, Leeds fans are the most delusional in the country. I enjoy their failure to reach the PL.
