On a similar note the commentator of the Auckland game said that Auckland have a Belgian player who had previously only played in Belgium. He said that the furthest away game he had played was only 40 minutes away. The co-commentator mused that Auckland's away game at Perth will come as a bit of a shock to the Belgian.
A possible exaggeration there - Verstraete was in the squad for Beveren's 5-1 defeat in Liege last season - that's just under a two hour trip. Although to be fair, he didn't make it off the bench that day.
Remember the days when a game was played in fog, and you relied on the crowd noise to give you an idea what was happening at the other end? My Friday night football from Chateauroux is being played with fog thick enough to be unable to see what is happening on the side of the ground away from the TV camera. Of course, nearly all the play has been over that side, so maybe 2nd half they might play camera side.
I can remember one such game around 1967, against Reading I think, it was. Standing behind the goal in the Rookery, the fog was so thick that I couldn't see the D at the top of the penalty area. From memory we won 3-0, but all the goals were at the other end. I'm not sure why the ref allowed the game to go ahead...
First Fa cup surprise of the round . Huddersfield just couldn’t cope with the pitch or Tamworth. Winning goal summed them up . Congratulations Tamworth
Another couple of dropped points for Luton I see - and their draw has put WBA within touching distance for us.
We could with three points tomorrow go above WBA. Surely at some point we will win away from the Vic.
