Very well done Carlos, superb pole lap and drive today.

Lando once again the nearly man showing race winning pace in the latter parts of a race but left too much to do.

Ferrari in the Constructors fight now big time- big weekend ahead in Brazil.

I'm begining to think that Lando is just a bit too passive and doesn't quite have that little bit extra it needs to win a title. He seems like a great guy and he's fast, I just feel like he's missing something.

I'm more pissed off that he should always have been punished like this over the years... It's pathetic how little his incidents have been punished.

At this point of his career I agree - I think this year will really harden him for future battles, he will learn a lot and have a couple of regrets I feel. It will come.

He's a bottas level driver imo... He'll Get eaten alive by the top dogs if they have a sniff of a competitive car.

Interesting- I think he’s a good chunk better than Bottas, who really was fortunate to have gotten a Mercedes seat - he looked good in the early hybrid days when Williams benefitted from a Merc PU.

    Time will tell for sure!

Bottas wasn't a slouch, but he did lack that killer instinct, so there are some similarities maybe.

I love Lando and love his attitude out of the car, but when the helmet goes on he's just gotta be tougher. Not just in driving but his demands on the team. He's a step behind the likes of Max, Hamilton and Alonso I feel, but like you say, it may come.

Lacks the killer instinct of a champion is the best way to put it.

It's ingrained in your character and although you can try to be like that... It's not something that can be trained or learned imo.

Bottas was a good driver , but lacked that final bit of skill / attitude to mix it up with the big boys .

I think currently Lando is similar , I do think that some drivers have it , and IT can’t be learned . You either have it or you don’t .

Happy to be proved wrong :)

I'm not sure about that. In Max's early career I questioned his credentials when it came to being champion material, and look at him now. Love him or hate him, there is no denying his talent.

In fairness to Norris it's a very tough situation for him to be aggressive in. A crash at any point is game over for his WDC and probably costs McLaren the WCC. Max doesn't care at all if both cars go out.

Still there's clearly been a few bad mistakes this year. Needs to be showing that killer instinct from race one next year.

I don't think he'll ever the hit the level of Max or Lewis at his peak, but i'm very sure he's better than Bottas. I'd probably use Nico Rosberg as a comparison.

I think he has the potential and the opportunity to grow. Maybe facing Max like he has been will harden him.

I always feel like Rosberg got a bad wrap, because he was a fierce driver and was bloody fast, but how he peaced out after winning the title says it all.

Awesome weekend from Carlos, but it’s reminded me that it’s a real shame he’s being kicked to the back of the grid next year.

Agree on the Norris chat - I was a big fan until this year and whilst I recognise that winning your first race and then being thrust into a title fight is a tough ask, you can’t help but feel he’s squandered an opportunity this year. He does seem the sort to continue to improve though, so no telling where that might take him in the future.

Can’t shake the feeling Verstappen was told he had to take his medicine this weekend, unusual to see him so phlegmatic about being penalised.

Finally hats off to Haas, who’ve really got it together in the last part of the year - probably one of Magnussen’s best ever races today.

Bet Lewis can`t wait to get his hands on one of those red cars now.
Next years Ferrari should be a evolution of this one and not a revolution.
