Positives: - Still in sniffing distance of the play-offs despite three draws in a row - Unbeaten run continues - Fortress Carrow Road, going a year at home for any team is an excellent result - Attanasio situation sorted - Wilshere on board - Sainz on sensational form - Long hopefully getting some confidence back after the penalty save and a much stronger second half performance - Fisher getting stronger in the second half Negatives: - We are still way too vulnerable to the press - We still leave ourselves gaping wide open against counterattacking sides and are particularly vulnerable to pace-y wide players - Key players out for multiple matches
Yeah this just dawned on me. McLean arguably a bigger miss. I’ve slated him most of his Norwich career but the last 2 seasons he’s been immense. He has shown amazing energy so far this season and was pushing so hard today which unfortunately lead to the challenge, no doubt unintentional but reckless.
Fantastic come back in the second half, inspired by that penalty save from Long and Middlesbrough taking off Doak and Conway
Ironic that Long was blamed for the first goal as his arm block deflected the ball into the roof of the net, only for his penalty save to keep us in it. The final irony was their keeper hooking Fisher's ball back into the goal after the initial save. Both sides will want to forget this game defensively, but the run goes on! Edit: Long finished with a second highest WhoScored rating of 7.6 while Boro's keeper ended with a rating of 5.2. No surprise that Sainz was MotM.
Am i right thinking a straight red means we lose McLean for 3 games? Nightmare with Nunez out too. Sorensen is back so good timing for him personally but I'll be interested to see what Hoff's next line up looks like with the other midfield potentials.
Good that we have overturned a two goal deficit in each of the last two games, shows character, but bad that we have allowed a two goal deficit to happen in the first place. Very exciting and incident packed game. Boro probably had slightly the better of it overall.
