These are the only league teams in GB that I can find to have not won a game all season. None in England, even Derby won one during their (although we didn't realise it at the time) very respectable 11 points season. In the 2017–18 Scottish Championship, the second highest division of Scottish Football, Brechin City drew 4 matches and lost 32 out of 36 matches. In the 2022-23 Cymru Premier the highest division in Welsh football, Airbus UK Broughton drew 2 games and lost 30 out of 32 games, ending in -4 points after a points deduction. It has the makings of a "there was an English team, a Scottish team and a Welsh team who didn't win a game all season". The Scottish team's manager said "We were gash, pure dead pish". The other two managers nodded in sympathy. The Welsh team's manager said "Rydw i mor sâl â pharot. Rydyn ni'n well nag y mae'r canlyniadau'n ei ddangos, wnaethon nhw adael dim byd allan ar y cae, dim ond y 30 tîm arall oedd eisiau mwy. Rhoddodd fy bechgyn 110%". . The other two managers didn't have a clue what he was saying but nodded politely. The English team's manager said in July, "We have to accept sometimes we’ll get beat but then other times we’ll have beautiful moments and games and results people don’t expect, maybe we’ll surprise some people." Then everybody laughed.
Sounds like something an u8s volunteer coach would say when the parents are asking why the team is ****
Much to Mrs AberdeenSaint`s chagrin, today I had a double header of Saints on TV, then Aberdeen. Not a disaster for Saints, but watching the Dons got me making comparisons. Clearly a different level in ability of players. But Aberdeen played out from the back a-la Saints when it was right, then they mixed it up by playing long, so Dundee United couldn`t be sure what was coming. So their defenders take a few steps back as a result, and it opens up yards of space to work in. Then the Dons manager went for it 4-2-4 against tired defenders, and it paid off.
Pisstake of a comment and I'd even go as far as insult to the paying support tbh. Just adds strength to the argument that it's all about a vanity project for him. All this playing the right way bollocks is just arrogance. Done my head in that.
I also like the "I have seen so many teams get promoted and go nowhere" as compared to us who are really getting somewhere playing his way.
I notice today he didn’t throw the players under the bus and instead talked about how Pep said he was great and Foden came over to him specifically to compliment how Saints play. The guy is arrogant about how we play and gets his back up when challenged, was obvious since he arrived.
Was speaking to one of my Leeds mates and he was saying he doesn’t understand why teams go up and think they can play the same way they did in the Championship, it’s just mental and a recipe for disaster. We are an extreme version of it but you really need to be a lot more defensive and cautious in this league when you come up
Yep as you never I've never warmed to him but equally was happy to give him credit when he deserved it last season and have been reluctant to call for him sacked. Those comments are the point of no return for me. Good for you Russel if you're having fun but actually that's not what the priority here is. You're paid a 7 figure salary to do what's best for Southampton Football Club and not massage your own ego so you can get plaudits from irrelevant outsiders. In other words, get to ****.
I hope he acknowledged the irony of Leeds doing exactly that under Bielsa (and staying up whilst doing it).
The Sports Republic way. Nothing, absolutely nothing is for the benefit of the club. The plan is for SFC to be a vehicle to show and develop "talents" in order to move them on and make £££. Obviously though this lot are turbo **** so it won't be happening. If Martin ever works at this level again I'll be shocked.
Oh hold on, one more thing I forgot that I can definitely relay: I said to PP/HK: “guys, please can we get a left back in January” Response was “we’ve already bought one” I thought he meant Charlie Taylor, so I said “well why is he playing in the U21s then?” Confused looks from PP - “no, we bought Welington, and he arrives in January”. They clearly have high hopes for him - PP said he was like a “Yuki on the left”. So some hope there perhaps.
This is the one he's coming on a free according to https://www.transfermarkt.com/welington/profil/spieler/729264 Thanks for the posts, it appears people were happy to discuss things you brought up.
