Shoehorn is coming straight back in isn't he? I think the CBs have actually generally been okay despite the amount of goals we concede. Assuming we'll go with a back 5 and maybe no striker again too just for fun.
I fully expect Martin to revert to a back 3/5 now Stephens is back. Maybe a 5-4-1? Ramsdale KWP THB Bednarek Stephens Taylor Dibling Downes Lallana BBD Tall Paul Harsh to drop Archer but if we're going 1 up top Paul would be better suited to do that. Would start Lallana over Fernandes for his experience and ball retention.
Do worry that Lallana has something in his contract saying he is not allowed to play over 45 mins per game. He has mentioned he only left Brighton as he was playing too much. Mad that a year ago he was simply twatbeard and now the fans are falling over themselves for him to start. I am one of them but crazy how things change in football.
One day but definitely not this season. Why promote someone who still has something to offer on the pitch? Unless we try a Dennis Wise approach. Has it ever worked out when a club has sacked the manager in the relegation zone, promoted a player to manager and they avoid relegation? Could see it easily becoming a Newcastle Shearer situation.
If possible i would prefer a Potter approach if he would even join us. Still think we will go down but prefer a manager who has a track record and a clear strategy which gives us the best chance of getting promoted next seaason.
This would make RM moist. Sadly it’s our opponents showing how to do it. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBhJj8wuKyg/?igsh=MWl4c2Y4dnJyejJ1MQ==
Apart from the very beginning the ball is going forward, and the passes go to City players and Haaland's little touch buys him enough seconds to score. None of these things are done by Saints current team. It actually highlights how poorly we do it, and how Russball isn't really like Pepball, I know the players are much, much better, but nevertheless we don't even really look like a bad version of that City-play in my book.
I don’t see Lewis going back to Akanji then Akanji to Lewis then Lewis to Akanji when he has an opposition player right on him so loses the ball. Martin would have a meltdown at how quickly City got the ball forward
Charlie Taylor playing for the u21s tonight. Surprised at that as thought he'd be involved tomorrow, particularly with doubts around Suga. Wood, Edwards & Diaz also playing tonight. Damning assessment of our summer recruitment.
This season and the previous 2 seasons in the PL have not bothered my tv remote for MOTD at all. YouTube highlights only. If we won it was because of an off day for, especially a top 6 team, if we lost, sometimes it seemed the other team was the only one on the pitch. This weekend it would, in our long tradition of surprising fans, a draw is very possible!!
