Yeah wasn’t being serious when I originally posted but most of you knew that. Can’t believe I’m even saying that. There’s no way in a ****ing million years we’re getting anything from this game apart from a lesson. Please SR, just do the right thing thereafter & give this club a chance. Edit: We’re no Sparta Prague.
You can find it on youtube. (You can also find Eerie Indiana and Maid Marian and her Merry Men too) As for Man City, feeling sorry for Saints after the referee robbed them last week, Man City magnanimously stand aside and let Saints win the game one nil. Man City still go on to buy win the league. When asked why they did it, City's manager says that he could still win the league, even when they let Saints do the double over them.
Well there's the solution, right there - Change our name to Melchester Rovers, and our Phoenix-like rise from the ashes of the basement of The Premier League will be immortalised in a weekly comic strip, featuring ever more unlikely scenarios, each of which ends with a winning goal (or occasionally a brilliant penalty save), and the players being carried from the pitch shoulder-high, by men in flat caps and woolly scarves, many of which will be holding wooden rattles. Of course, jumpers for goalposts may be required, if only to confuse VAR
If you get a chance, listen to the Melchester Odyssey episodes of the Top Flight Time Machine podcast - absolutely brilliant.
I just don't know how Southampton pick themselves up from last week's defeat by Leicester, and there is only one outcome here. It will be a rearguard action from the off by Saints - but they will end up losing. It is a question of how long they can hold out for, and then how many goals Manchester City will score. Sutton's prediction: 4 - 0 . Nemzzz's prediction: As much as I am with United, City are just so hard to stop. 3 - 1.
They will hold out until the whistle goes to start the match. First goal within the first minute, scored by Ederson with a long punt from his own area. No Saints player having touched the ball.
Reminds me of Begovic. Is that still the longest distance goal in the PL? Another record for the books.
On Adam Lallana's role within his squad this season: "Adam is really involved in the process. We have a lot of honest chats and he understands he was brought in to help on and off the pitch. At 36 years old, we cannot expect him to help in every single game. He will definitely help us at some point." I know it’s just for the media but he better hurry up!
I was there. Went to the excellent local rugby club for pie and a pint. When we parked the wind was so strong I struggled to open the car door. The ground’s got no corners. A mate was in the last seat by the South Western gap, where the wind was coming from. He was getting battered … and then that goal happened, it must have bounced 10 foot over Boruc’s head
Phew! I thought I was the only one. Living in the Highlands I get to watch Saints live on Sky or on highlights. I have watched about ten minutes of most games and then stopped. It's pathetic I feel this way about a football team I have followed/supported since 1969.
With a couple of injuries i would like the below. Feels harsh to sub Aribo and Archer but would bring them on in the second half after Fernandes has been given a yellow and we are 3-0 up from tall Paul. Ramsdale KWP Stephens Bedders Taylor Fernandes Downes Lallana Dibling Paul Sulemana
