Can't wait to see the lads play Saturday, feels like ages since a home game. I have every faith RLB and the coaches will have us set up to batter them. Got a feeling Isidor and Connelly will score
When I used to go sporadically I would be absolutely buzzing for days beforehand. I'd get there early go to the club shop do a lap of the ground watch some of the warm up then go down for a pint. Now I stroll in about 2.45 neck a pint and get to my seat for the players coming out. I mean it's nice to go to the game every other week and I wouldn't change it for anything but I guess I just don't appreciate it as much anymore and that's kinda sad now I actually think about it.

Will RLB rest anyone this game, if I were playing I’d be desperate to stay in this team. Glad we have the right man to make that decision and make it work and hopefully keep everyone else on their toes ready to step up. This really is a great time to be supporting our team, squad, club!
Think this is a game we need to be cautious in, Oxford have had a decent start to the season and have surprised a few teams already. RLB however does not seem the type to just think he can turn up and win and I expect his preparation to be as good as time allows given the tight schedule over the last week. This may well be a game that will need to be worked out by the players on the pitch with a bit of help from the sidelines as we go. I am going for a 2-0 win but think it will be more difficult than anticipated and am expecting a difficult first 45.
Agreed. After the tough week we’ve had with 2 away games on Sunday and Wednesday and this game on Saturday ( Oxford played at home on Saturday and home again on Tuesday night) this is going to be a tough test. Normally I’d expect us to beat them relatively comfortably but this might be one of those games where we are not at our sharpest. Hopefully the crowd will carry them over the line. 1-0 will do nicely.
For me it’s more what is going on behind the scenes. The end product is what we all see and it’s great to witness. But the club appears to be set up properly for the first time in decades. I’m currently reading Sir Bob Murray’s book and it’s no wonder we were ****e after what he took over. Had everything been set up properly then who knows where we could be now.
Need to keep the good times rolling and get out of the blocks. Oxford have a habit of being very tough to beat and seem to stay in the game. Could be some changes after back to back away games and fresh kegs. Roberts may come back in. Guess it depends on how the players feel. Seems like ages since a 15.00 game at the SOL. Bit of a rarity these days. I'll go for a 2-0 win.
It's not the end of the world if we don't win, but I feel like this is a great opportunity for three in a row! I'm wary of Oxford, but we should have more than enough to route them. I'm thinking first half against Burnley, Sheff Wed and Derby. Get onto them quick from the first, try bag an early goal via the press in the final 3rd, then keep it up and try nab one or two more. Make it a quiet second half.
This will be a tough game, they are very hard to play against n we are coming off a massive physically n mentally tiring game 3 points would be massive tho, I don't expect many changes - I suspect Roberts will start for either Browne or Rigg but don't think there will be any other changes (I'd consider connolly for Isidor depending on how Isidor is feeling) The bench will be big on Sat with it being the third game in 6 games, hoping Watson gets 10/15 mins as he could be a quality pace with his pace n directness
we have played well and beaten teams without getting into first gear. bar the 20 mins where we'd scored 3 against Sheff Weds, we havent really gone for the jugular agaisnt a side, which I think a big ( well bigger than Wednesday) massive statement win ( like a 5/6-0) is coming soon. also a big win like this would do wonders for the confidence getting stronger
We are managing games out better, for the first time in a long time . What we did at Luton, is what was happening to us in many games in the past, where we had pressure ,possession and effort but lost . So its always difficult to gauge if we have hit top performance or not .Oxford seem to be difficult to beat with draws for most games probably a tight low scoring game .. happy for me to be completely wrong of course
First home game in a long time for me, younger brother got me a ticket as I'm over the NE this weekend....Can't wait..
Very difficult game this one coming after two massive efforts away from home. Oxford a very well organised side only lost 1 in last 8 I believe. They have had some good results so far. We need to get at them get ahead and dictate the game from there. I think browne may be sacrificed for Roberts but other than injuries don't see changes. Be nice to win big and give fringe players a run out but I'll just take the 3 points and move on. Keep the faith lads and lasses.
REGIS Le Bris is constantly reminding his Sunderland players about the gruelling effort to come in a bid to ensure they don't get carried away on the back of their stunning start to the Championship season. Sunderland worry over Trai Hume, Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg | The Northern Echo
Think we would see Roberts come back in against Oxford. I think possibly for Rigg, simply because he's played every game so far and put in a gruelling 90 minutes against Luton. Other possible change is Connelly for Isidor. Then Isidor can come in for mundle or Connelly later in the game, with his speed against tired legs. Clean sheet this time, with us scoring 2
