Just for fun. We have elite level folk running our club. I feel it inevitable we are going to be fighting off bids. Where would you value our players, assuming bids come in next summer, not Jan. Jan is mad, and I know much can happen between now and summer. Buts lets assume players stick on their current trajectory. We are in a stong position now so no more cheap deals. We get what we want. My mad thoughts below. High to low. 1. Jobe. £40m 2. Rigg. £35m 3. Neil. £20m 4. Mundle. £13m 4. Patto. £12m 5. Cirkin. £10m 6. Ballard. £7m 7. Mayenda. £5m 8. Hume. £5m 9. Watson. £5m 10. ONien. £4m 11. Roberts £4m 12. Browne £2m 13. Alese £1m 14. Ba £1m Have left out players we dont own or havent seen much of. Fringe players like Adil and Bennette as well, we are getting peanuts at best.
I'd push for more for Cirkin. Got massive potential, good quality English LBs don't grow on trees. We would have to include massive add on % for the like of Jobe/Rigg etc as well.
Agree there, especially if he stays fit for a long spell I’d also value Rigg higher than Jobe. He’s a good year and a half younger, the potential is scary
16 - 18 mill for cirkin I'd also ask for 8 - 10 mill for Hume I think he's outstanding Hume also captains Northern Ireland quality for a young player that.
Hume isn’t a ‘glamour player’ so is often overlooked. He’s been excellent in the last two games and had tough opponents to mark … … he was actually my MOTM at Luton but I didn’t post that because you’re supposed to say Mepham. He’s improving regularly, not surprising as he’s young enough, and I think he’ll end up as a Sunderland legend. It’s amazing how he stays on the pitch in an age when his kind of tackles are rarely seen. Referees must appreciate that they’re fair and they must be otherwise he’d be just as likely to injure himself as anyone else.
I'd say these are mostly about right, although I'd probably have Neil (getting to the age where we can't sell "potential" and has plateaued a bit), Mundle (not enough games), and Watson (no experience) a little lower. Possibly Hume slightly higher.
Cirkin is an interesting one, I agree he's worth more (best LB in the league, imo), but doubt any club would pay his value due to lack of playing time and injury history. I doubt any team would offer more than 10m, but he's worth far more than that to us, if he can stay fit
1. Jobe. £35m plus massive sell on 2. Rigg. Keep him 2 year, we be in PL, £50million plus, more if he proves himself top tier. Based on Givvs-White fee 3. Neil. £20m 4. Mundle. £15m and rising. Going to be better than Jacky as less one dimensional. 4. Patto. £12m. Maybe more due to English tax. 5. Cirkin. £18m. Potential England LB he does one full season fit and we be fighting the entire PL off. Looks robust this year, has taken clattering and been sound. 6. Ballard. £12m. Young international, beast. 7. Mayenda. £5m and rising. Needs to add co distant goals to rocket. 8. Hume. £10m. Quality, international captain, not a massive ceiling. Huuuuuuume. 9. Watson. Need to see more. 10. ONien. Priceless for what he brings to the group. No fee would balance that value. 11. Roberts £7m. Could play PL, easily. 12. Browne £2m 13. Alese £6million. Based on being for, left sided and rapid for a CB. Currently, £15… 14. Ba £3m. Going rate. Should be so much more he needs his head worked on. I’ll add that if Connolly steps up there’s close to a £20million player there. We’ve seen him in PL, and he has started superb.
My figures were what I think we might get next summer. Rigg definitely potential to go up in another year to. Same for Jobe. I agree my figures are probably low on Cirkin and Hume. I was conscious of injury record with Cirkin, but their is a premium on left backs right now. The only thing that I find a downside with Hume in terms of value is a slight lack of pace. Pace is important in that position and I wonder if it might be the one thing stops him going to a high level. It certainly wont be his attitude or commitment that is for sure.
Don’t think you were miles off. Way to look at it, Ross went for £10 (or 12.5 if the add on is true), Clarke was more valuable went for £18-20 depending on who you believe. Now, Ross was injury prone and Clarke is pretty much maxed out, his left isn’t gonna magically improve ten fold. Jobe, Rigg and Super Lettuce improve every game, they have way higher ceilings than the 2 we’ve sold. Cirkin really just needs positional work but it’s improving, he’s good in the tackle. Those 4 are worth close to what you said and potentially huge amounts more. If we hit PL and they perform those values will be wild. Then it’s, do we need to sell or do we build around them? I know the battle is Jobe and Rigg realistically are gonna have mega club offers. Sounds daft but there’s absolutely no doubt Real are tracking Jobe every step after Jude success, and Rigg has Arsenal or City stamped all over him. It’s an incredible group individually and collectively.
Remember this is a lad who came through at Brighton and did great in the PL before things went sideways. He’s openly spoken out about the reasons and if the lads got hold of that he’s still really young to get that back. He was linked with United and Spurs in them early days. We’ve seen 25 mins of him and the way he carries the ball and his composure and strength with it is visibly another level. He could very quickly get back to that place, let’s not forget the kid scored a decent amount last season even fighting his demons. His strength on ball and touch are what makes him. 2 natural gifts rather than coachable talents. He will score soon then we will see him soar.
Scored against the Saudis indeed. He was one that was a bit of a burst onto scene them fall apart, my thoughts are that what we’ve heard from him recently is the cause. If that players still in there, and it looks like it is, he’s potentially an absolute beast. My only hope is we have an option to extend.
@Scout73 will know much more than me but I am told that premier league and european scouts are in regular attendance at our games. Jobe and Rigg are the headline acts. I believe Liverpool are still keeping an eye on Neil, although Klopp moving on changed things a bit there I think.
I think we all know Jobe & Rigg are impossible to keep. Not that we aren’t a great club, a big club, just that what they are capable of is that top level. We know that isn’t realistic for us, for me they will be similar to Jordan, we will watch with pride as they do their thing. We keep them 2-3 years though, they are headline for us attracting young talent right now and that is as valuable as what they do on the park.
