I wouldn't say the only area, but I think the rest can arguably be resolved by players we have, just playing them in the right spots. We haven't yet seen a midfield trio that has really clicked, and if Millar is out injured I'm not sure what the solution at LW is because Kamara isn't it.
Haha funny that, I compared him to Ebiowei on our podcast the other day. He has a very laconic style of play which if he's producing goals/assists is fine, but if he isn't makes him look lazy (even if he isn't). It's tough to watch at times.
Inclined to agree. I thought the last time he got minutes looked better than previously. Not sure Pedro will turn out to be good business and Bedia as ive said before is one footed.
Pedro looked like a player on his last legs, his brain his sharp but his body is about 10 seconds behind. Bedia looked better when he came on. We have a lack of intent and energy upfront. Something which I thought Burstow brought in his only start, bit like an unsettling battering ram. He never even gets brought on now.
I think the Billy Sharp comparison for Pedro is a good one. He clearly has that goalscoring instinct to be there when a cross goes in. He showed that at Norwich, against Alanyaspor and again last night when Kamara fizzed a nice one across and he almost scored. But away from the box things seem to pass him by a bit.
Good shout. Despite an excellent first half one goal was never going to be enough as our opponent's changed gear and looked ominously good in that second half and arguably should have won. City on the other hand are definitely work in progress still and without stating the obvious need to find the back of the net more often or potentially face a very long hard season. UTT.
it sounds simple but home fans leaving the stadium happy has a massive cascading effect no one ever expects we will win at home its crazy
After how easily we were breezed passed by Leeds Blunts and Norwich it’s been pleasing to see a commitment to making us more solid, we look dangerous at times on the counter just need the final pass to improve
We’ve needed a striker for what seems like ever….my only little concern is, it’s not like we are creating chance after chance and our current strikers can’t hit a barn door with. We aren’t actually creating much for them at all, had we signed any of our first choice targets in the summer, I have a doubt their goal return would have been much better
All our strikers end up playing as if they have a very nasty infectious disease, none of our other players go anywhere near them. I was looking forward to seeing Pedro but wasn't impressed. Bedia was holding the ball up on occasions and playing some nice passes but we do make it very hard for anyone playing there.
